For me its that the style that suits the players is not hodgson's style. Shakespeare knows how to utilise the players.
Also I have some ambition, we shouldnt be aiming just to survive each season but to win more things. Craig has that hunger and is a unknown to others which makes me like the scenario.
I will support whatever manager we get, but I think in the short term we should appoint craig, and then review again in the summer.

No other viable and sensible decision other than to give it to Shakespear. Any other decision risks destabilising us again IMO.

I'd let Shakey take it game by game for now. Naming him permo to the end of year may have the opposite effect to that desired. The players stop trying again, we lose, we have to sack him.
One thing is for sure we need a permanant manager who is going to clear out the deadwood. By the start of next season the whole back 4 needs to be gone and both attacking spots upgraded. I'm worried that Shakespeare won't do this - old boys club - and thzen we'll be in the relegation zone until at least the january transfer window and probably fighting it all year.

I agree with him and said this to my dad yesterday. It just seems a bit fishy to me. I'm never convinced by paper talk of unrest but of all the stories I could most easily believe the ones of Shakespeare falling out with Ranieri. It wouldn't surprise me if he'd been undermining him in the background. I can't remember the last time an assistant was so forthright with wanting the job from the off.

I guess Ranieri would not know who was responsible for the turd on his bonnet - Kasper or Shakespeare. Or perhaps a disgruntled groundsman? Or Doris the tea lady? I know, I know.... it's the guy that made the chicken burgers. He's behind it all.

Exactly what I was thinking. Often what happens is there is an upturn in performance levels in the immediate aftermath of the previous manager leaving. I don't think we should rush anything, leave Shakespeare in charge on a game by game basis 'til the end of the season and see if we can sustain this level of performances for a stretch. Hull upgraded Whelan to permanent first team coach after his successful spell in charge as caretaker manager and things started to go south after that.....

I think he has handled it extremely well. What else is he supposed to say other than it is up to the owners to make their decisions?
