Hopefully Morgan is back next week, any updates on whether that's likely?

If not I would prefer to put Amartey in there than Was. Whatever happens it will be a new partnership so whoever it is should play together against Palace
 
Disappointing not to get the away goal and create more =/ Likewise we have a problem for the second leg with Huth being suspended. Better hope Wes is ok by then.

1-0 is a fair result. We face an immense task in the 2nd leg because they'll sit back and hit us on the break which is exactly what they're good at. But we're in with a chance and we couldn't have asked for much more than that.
 
Huth, Albrighton, Benny absolutely superb. Simpson too.

Drinkwater and Mahrez complete passengers. What a conundrum Drinkwater is. Looked utterly nonplussed. Thought Slimani did really well when he came on.

We absolutely CANNOT play Wasil against these. Has to be Amartey or Morgan on a gurney.

All in all, great result, especially with the farcical penalty decision. Can't wait for Tuesday.

Was isn't in the squad. Drinkwater didn't play that badly but then again he's flavour of the month.

You're right, we can't play Wasil. Even if we wanted to.
 
Ref wasn't as dodgy as that French ****wit we had 20 years ago but he did his best to come close. Other than the non penalty it was job done. In overall play we've been battered, just like in Seville. That turned out OK in the end. No shots on target in the whole game is a worry but I'd rather get that out of the way tonight than have it at home! Shame we need 2 to win it...but then again we did it last time.

Come on lads...third time lucky!!!!
 
Huth, Benny, Fuchs and Albrighton were outstanding all night. An exceptional performance from every one of them. Heroes

Drinkwater, though, was absolutely feckin' dreadful. Appalling in every way
And Mahrez, oh my goodness, that was woeful. Absolute shit

All others, including King, can be proud of that

Drinkwater was terrible. And Mahrez was his usual **** self. I'd quite happily not see him picked again. Gray should have come on for him at half time.

As for the penalty. It was clearly a terrible decision, but I don't really blame the referee because it was at such a fast speed that I initially thought it was a penalty. It was an honest mistake in my opinion. If we had video technology, it wouldn't have taken many seconds for someone to have watched it and told the referee it was outside the box.
 
Exceptional defensive performance. Thought Huth, Benalouane and Albrighton were all outstanding.

We were incredibly nervy for the first 25 mins and Atletico should've killed us off by then, but grew into the game after that.

Excellent substitution to bring King on at half-time too. The extra man in midfield completely negated their attack when it looked like Griezman would take the piss in the first half, he barely got on the ball second half.

We lost our out ball going forward by doing it, but I think overall it was the correct decision as it looked a hell of a lot more likely to be 2-0 than 1-1 at HT - just get us back safely and give us a slim chance at home in front of our fans.

Overall, I'm proud of the exceptional defensive performance which has given us a chance.
