    Super League win Court battle

Money is the only motivator here. Hence the likely inclusion of a number of Saudi Arabian teams, etc. As you say, the chasm would grow further, to the extent there may as well be a separate top half of the league. Champions League money is already an obscene differentiator. This would make it...

    Super League win Court battle

I'm surprised so many people are in favour of this on this forum. If it happens, and the top 8-10 teams in the PL leave, we'll be stuck with the "also-rans" for the foreseeable future. And I think we're all seeing this season how even if we're beating the also-rans, some fans aren't getting...

Hey Jeff, On a couple of separate occasions over the last couple of days, I've had a notification that the site isn't secure and I can't login. Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded summer 2023 rumours thread - it's started already!

I'd argue that our previous success, as well as the success of Brighton, Brentford, etc., is built around having a clear style of play that is all-encompassing across the club, including throughout our scouting and signings. So that means that the club is not dependent on one or two...

    Next permanent manager

I can't see it being anyone other than Smith. The Board already approved of Smith's appointment once, albeit under different circumstances, and in their eyes he probably did ok. So not sure why they would change that view.

Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded summer 2023 rumours thread - it's started already!

Other than his legacy, etc., the only real shame is that we can't get £20-30m for selling him. Another symptom of our abysmal management that he's walking away on a free.

    Next permanent manager

Over half of the PL clubs changed managers last season. Whether Potter gets an offer this summer or not, he knows that he can walk in to a PL role at some point in the next 12 months. Zero chance he comes to this complete shambles. He would have everything to lose and little to gain (as...

    Odds on our immediate return

It's not unreasonable to expect that we will start next season with most / many of the current squad (regardless of whether they are for sale or want out). Whether that's a good thing or a bad thing is another matter, but it's highly likely that our line-up on ~05 August will be the most...

    What do the stats say?

The whole point of XGc and XG is that it's a (reasonably) objective number. Iversen has been better than Ward and so yes, we would have been better off with him playing for the whole season, but neither were good enough and the goalkeeping situation was a key reason that we were relegated.
  17. FryattFox

    What do the stats say?

Our XGc stats suggest that by simply signing a competent replacement for Schmeichel last summer, we would have comfortably stayed up. Danny Ward had an average XGc of negative 0.34 per 90 mins, meaning every three matches played he cost us a goal. Iversen wasn't much better with XGc of...

    They're talking about us

I've only just seen this, but having worked with a number of Premier League clubs, I know that relegation release clauses are not consistently included in contracts. They may be in the majority, but they're often removed as part of contract negotiations.

Akanji helping Man City to the Champions League final (as well as likely winning the PL and/or FA Cup). But not good enough for Leicester according to a number of posters.

    2023-24 Pre Season Friendlies

I think we're all missing the wider point. It's in Bangkok. If we sign up Smith's son this summer, take him along to Bangkok, set up a casual racist prostitute orgy, and get Smith sacked, then we'll win the league next season. Whichever league we're in.

Post Match Leicester 0 Liverpool 3

I've gone from watching the 25 minute highlights, down to the 9 minute highlights, and recently I just watch the 3 minute highlights. It makes the disappointment a lot more manageable when it's all over in 3 minutes. (Which is incidentally 2.5 minutes longer than it takes to disappointment...

    Relegation?

The Pearson talk is ridiculous. And as crazy as getting MON back 10 years ago would have been. Let's take a step back - what worked so well in the 2014 to 2020 era was having a clear structure in place that was irrespective of who the manager was. It's why Claudio didn't need to change anything...

    Premier League 2022/23

Statistically, on average a 'new manager bounce' is a misnomer as teams simply revert to their appropriate league position based on the quality of the squad (which is typically directly correlated to the total of wages paid). So for Leeds, my belief is their squad is a bottom-5 squad...
