People don't like to tempt fate (for good reason, from personal experience). If the baby wasn't born until Sunday, why would they announce it on the Saturday?

And indeed why would it be anyone's business? Vardy may even have asked it be kept quiet until it had actually happened safely and those important to him ( family etc) had been informed.
