Firefox doesn't want to let Hola play with me any longer.

Got it to work on Chrome but I hate using Chrome.

Any suggestions?

In the process I've discovered that Hola use my connection as an exit node on a parallel paid-for service. Not sure I'm altogether comfortable with that so it is probably time for me to stump up and pay for a VPN. Any recommendations?

ZenVPN seemed to work well on the trial I used but that is the only ever VPN I've used so probably not the best feedback. The Bournmouth game streamed perfectly through StarSports.com though so it did what it needed to but I'm too tight to pay for it!

Does this Hola have a server in India?

No idea. I only used it so I could access decent programs on Netflix instead of the crap they offer up on the UK version.

A mate has given me access to his Seedboxes account and I'm running their VPN at the moment. Seems to be working brilliantly except I can't use Firefox. No great loss.

Hola doesn't work like that, it's a peer to peer system. So for example if you use Hola online and a Hola user in the US wants to visit a UK only website, they might be doing so via your computer and internet connection.

So you should be able to use it to access sites in India, and any other country where there are Hola users.

I installed it some time ago but immediately uninstalled it once I realised how it works. I don't want other people using my bandwidth, and there may be security implications too.

Spot on.
I use it, but only very occasionally, whenever I need it and then disable it straightaway when I'm finished

When did I say that?
You didn't, specifically. But its how peer to peer works. If you have never used peer to peer or downloaded a torrent file then I can see where you are coming from.

I know how peer to peer works. As I mentioned above, I immediately uninstalled it when I realised it was peer to peer. It was installed on my phone. Data on my phone costs money. I don't want to pay for other people's porn downloads.

I occasionally use peer to peer on my PC, but that doesn't cost me anything.

And this, ladies and gentlemen, is as close as we're going to get to finding out who this summer's cameraman was.
