I really don't understand the panic for defenders or midfielders.

Hernandez played one game when the entire shape of the team was a dog's dinner. There is no real reason to think he isn't up to it.

Mendy has had 60 minutes to show his capabilities and a lot are ready to consign him to the ressies.

Wasil is an able deputy and Benny may just be edging his way back in.

I think we are fine.

No panic, just would have been nice to see some proper cover for Simpson come in as we don't have another RB.

Also a younger CB to come in and learn from Wes & Huth wouldn't have gone a miss as we are ageing in that department but I think we were probably right not to bid more than £15m for Keane.

Bar a serious injury crisis, which doesn't seem likely, we will be fine but it would have been nice to see a couple more lower profile signings to fill potential voids.

I would've liked an RB but I suppose CR believes that Hernandez and Benny are good enough there - I didn't see that in the short time they played but it wasn't long. CB we certainly have depth. Midfield we have depth too. Mendy and Amartey look very good there and James we know is good for it. When King is your 5th or 6th CM then that's not bad.

Don't be soft. I'm not implying that at all. It was an experiment in wit.

Club is fine. BUT we have still arguably not replaced our best player adequately. That is a big thing in my book and we will feel it unless of course the Amarty party isn't a one off.

We have plenty in midfield.
