I haven't played COD for ages but I always thought you could skip them in that which is why it didn't bother me so much as some games really take the piss with that.

Max Payne was terrible as I can remember renting it for a week but having it on for about 30 mins and then never playing it again as the cut scenes were so frequent and un-skippable.

Not 100% sure but think Microsoft have just said the Xbox One will be $499/£429 which seemed to be OK imo. Still would never bite at that price but certainly not as high as what had been suggested.

Well that's Michael Pachter's reputation in tatters. Now announced at £349 and £429.

Big might imo though.

I don't think the price is that big a deal as you do get more for your money with an Xbox One as the new Kinect sensor can easily be argued to be where the £70 difference is.

On the games side I'd still wait and see as I haven't read a great deal on it as I've been in training all day at work, but Microsoft aren't imposing any restrictions on second hand games themselves, it will be down to the individual publishers if they want to come to agreements with certain stores where you can trade their games in. Sony have said they won't charge but that leaves it open imo if publishers wanted to charge a fee.

The big plus-point for the PS4 is it not requiring an internet authentication every 24-hours as some people just don't game online at all but quite surprised they haven't shown off a physical unit.

Still seems very 50/50 to me and a lot could be decided by release date, as whichever comes first will get a foothold of the market initially.

I think it's a very novel concept that a games console allows your television to become a television.

Toys R Us seems to be the cheapest atm but unsure what they are like for new releases and reckon there will be some better value bundle deals as we get closer to release.

shopto.net, use them quite a bit with only good experience. They also do a 12 month swap out warranty on PS4 and Xbox One. Plus when Ive pre ordered games from them before they usually arrive 3/4 days before release.

I think pricing makes sense but yes there needs to be a degree of assumption made there. As for being online, yes thats an assumption but is anyone really going to buy latest generation consoles and tech who doesn't have broadband?
