Ranieri Sacked

If it is player power then money talks.

1 manager with 3 years x £1million contract = £3million payoff

5 players with 3 years x £5million contracts = £75million payoff

Isn't staying up worth over £100m or someshit? Could have put a fair few on gardening leave an stayed up.

And respect hasn't.

The owners come across as putting many things before money but I think they've just shown that is a lie. There choice of course, hope they enjoy living with the consequences. I know what glenn hoddle would say.

Not sure what you were expecting, Ranieri to stay in charge forever regardless? I respect Ranieri for what he did last season and desperately wanted him to turn it around, but it has been obvious for a while that we are not looking like turning things around, in fact with each passing week we've been getting worse and worse. I respect Ranieri, but I'd have sacked him after the Swansea game personally.

Whats more, there are rumours than Ranieri has treated some players like shit.

If true, that's not good. However, even if true, why have the players conspired to take it out on us, the supporters who help pay their inflated salaries?

It is widely believed that it was Cambiasso's Playbook for winning the last 10 games that gave us the Great Escape.

I hope the crowd get behind the team (even the underperforming shit eating bastards who have let us down) and tries to inspire us to three points. Anything else is just a distraction. If anyone wants to protest or support our former manager leave it until after the game has finished.

The players won't give a shit

They know full well if they score a couple of goals they'll be singing their name rather than Ranieri's

Feel quite conflicted about this. Desperately wish that he could be afforded the dignity and respect that he deserves but understand the owners' perspective too. Perhaps quite a brave decision knowing the flack they're going to get. When all the uproar dies down maybe some kind of gesture of appreciation from the fans would show him what he means to those who really matter

But tonight, the owners can **** off and the players can **** off.

The owners have taken a brave decision and if we stay up they will have done the right thing If the players suddenly start performing then they will have proven that they have let us the supporters down big time. The owners are still OK in my book at the moment. My jury is out on the players.

So the world loved us last year. Now they hate us. Couldn't give a shit. Have personally supported Leicester since the late 80s without 'the world' just fine. We need to stop focussing on that.

This rumour about the players being miffed by Musa starting over Gray appears to sum everything up. When Gray came on, the whole team was lifted. When he was heavily involved in the first goal, all the players signalled him and ran over to him. Combined with the footage from the bench where the players looked at Ranieri with utter disgust, it's never been more clear or public that the players just didn't want to play for him and didn't like what he was doing. At all.

Ranieri is a true gentlemen. An incredibly likeable bloke. So why did the players stop playing for him? Were they not motivated anymore and enjoying their celeb lifestyles and cars? Isn't it the manager's job to sort that out (along with other modern aspects of the game e.g. psychology)? Why has Ranieri always had poor second seasons? Is it a coincidence that it's happened again? Were the players low on confidence or were their hearts and heads just not in it? Did he change everything that worked well last season behind the scenes too much? Are we much less fit? Are the rumours about him falling out with key staff true?

So many unanswered questions. We can point the finger at the players and we can question some of Ranieri's decisions, but none of us truly know what the **** has happened. A really sad and confusing end to a truly magical time. My season review Blu-ray is still sealed, and probably will be for quite some time.

I'm not saying anything new, but wanted to say _something_.

Me neither. They gave CR a vote of confidence a couple of weeks ago and I believed them. More stupid me.
They hoped it would quell any unrest and help turn things around.

It didn't.

Staying in the top league is worth millions. Business logic overrides sentimentality.

Well, if we stay up that is..

Or us. Don't forget that.

Widely believed by idiots, based on complete and utter made up nonsense

At least one player has confirmed it as being horseshit

The rumours are based on two players' comments plus the birch though aren't they? Ulloa was one player, can't remember the other.

Personally I think Cambiasso was influential but not to the extent he deserves all the credit for the 'great' escape. Mostly we got extremely lucky with fixtures, playing a succession of mid table teams who by that stage had nothing left to play for, combined with the pot luck of Pearson finally finding a formation that worked with what was about his 15th different formation of the season.

Makes a change to be able to agree with homer.
