I noticed she was very complimentaty of Beighton!!!

Ah he deserved it for the ludicrous orange boots haha.

Thanks very much for the game guys, it was great to play in and great to know it was raising money for a worthy cause too.

I nearly wet myself with Melton's overhead kick.

I stared Superstardom in the face for a brief second, it felt fantastic. But the glam, the glitter, the razzamatazz is now all but a fading dream.

I would personally like to thank all the organisers;

Not forgetting stoneparkfoxs (for organising the sweep, f*cking cheat!!!!!)

oh dear! the ball i won will be auctioned off at bradley whitfields charity do at the west end club on the 19th june, he was the young city fan who was killed outside the chip shop in braunstone last new years eve time!

Welll thanks to both sides, cracking game played in the right spirit and very close.

We raised £165 in total and donated £85 to St Andrews fund for a new kidney transplant unit at LRI as one of the blokes sons is 2 years old and has had one (failed) kidney transplant and now desperately needs another.

Therefore we have £80 left to give to a charity of our choice. Ill take some suggestions and then have a vote in the next few days, foxestalk boys please feel free to throw any suggestions into the mix.

I have 2 suggestions Cancer Research UK, a disease that has affected many on the forum in various forms and has also affected my own family in various ways and with various results.

My 2nd suggestion is for sufferers of PKU, my niece is less than a year old and has been diagnosed with PKU, an illness that prevents her from braking down the protein in foods. She is on a special diet and can only eat certain types of food, this will obviously become more of a problem in years to come when she wont be able to eat most meats/fish or chocolate etc. We are trying to set up a special centre for sufferers at Notts Queens Medical to allow sufferers and their families to meet to discuss diets/special foods and any problems etc with specialists. My sister has just done the 3 peaks challenge for the same cause.

Any other suggestions are more than welcome.

I'd nominate The Rainows Childrens Hospice.

They're local and desperate for money. They are a hospice for terminally ill children. Not really much more to be said.

I don't care where it goes personally, so long as is it to a charity. They all do good causes and I couldn't begin to choose between, and have no personal reasons to prefer any particular one.

IMO the organisers should get to choose as they put the most effort in, and if not you could end up donating £2 to 40 different charities

I agree with the cancer research one, i'll throw another into the ring as I know from experience they did as much as they could to make my brothers short life as comfortable as possible and that is Memphys,
Taken from their website

Caring for local children and young people with disabilities...supporting the family.
Menphys is a local charity addressing the needs of local people. Menphys relies upon voluntary and statutory donation from the local community to carry on it's work with children with mental and physical disabilities and their families, which is why your support is so important to us.

Menphys needs to raise a £500,000 every year to be able to maintain and develop our work.

But like Beighton said, any charity is worthy.

agreed, just thought i'd suggest another for the poll.

RNLI for me, they rescued a hypothermic and unconscious Melton Fox from the sea, and helped save the kids I was responsible for :icon_redf

I appreciate this isn't a "heart strings tug" type of charity, but I have a great fondness for them, and they are all volunteers.

So we'd be giving them money not to bother next time? :icon_wink

edit : with you obviously, save the kids

Not for me to say on any donation as i wasnt involved, but like you i have great admiration for the RNLI. There are many good and worthy charities, but not many where they literally they put their lives on the line for other people, and they do it for the honour and without money ever coming into it. I have read the book about the 1981 Penlee lifeboat disaster, and its a heart rendering story about people who the over used word 'heroes' could aptly apply.
