And what's more (and perhaps it shouldn't matter - but it does), he is a gentleman.

We should be ****ing proud that he is our manager. We must support HIM, players come and go (generally) based purely on the £££ in their pocket, I don't get that impression from the only manager to win us the PREMIER LEAGUE..

WE need to show the same or better level of support when things aren't going so well as we did when all in the garden smelt of roses.

As much as I'm a fan of our best manager ever, he'd probably gain a bit more widespread support if we tried competing in games by dropping those who may as well be on strike.

We need to pull off a couple or three signings before end of Jan in order to replace Hernandez and Schlupp if nothing else, but with players that can really push morgan, huth, fuchs, simpson and albrighton to either rediscover their form or make way for the time being.
With Mahrez and Slimani back, Ndidi in and the potential for a signing or two we should take the chance to go hell for leather at Derby and use it as a jumping off point to kickstart the season. we have to start by passing the ****ing ball to each other and trusting each other to make the right decisions as opposed to the drop deep and hope for the best whacking the ball to Vardy approach.

If we dont sign Acerbi, a £20m centre half like Keane. Or raid Brighton for Dunk then i think Morgan and Huth will struggle to get out of the funk they are in. I think Simpson and Fuchs are currently being dragged down by those two performing under par, i really do and the only way out of it is some serious competition...

I think Ranieri has been right 90% of the time this year but the players have just let him down a lot of the time by being below the level he has set up for. Unfortunately if most of your squad comes back from their champions break and have dropped their level then there's not much you can do. you cant drop the whole team...

I was listening to James Richardson's guardian podcast and he referred to 'rumours' about discontent within the squad towards Ranieri. He said that they're were a couple of the main players (and named Schmeichel as one of them) that have been bitching about Ranieri - saying that he's nothing like the public figure he portrays himself as etc - and that there is a growing sense of inevitability that Ranieri will have to go at some point.

Peter Schmeichel has definitely been posting/saying some pretty anti-Ranieri stuff over recent weeks.

I read of one over the weekend. Given that it's pappa tweating, one has to wonder if he considers the effect on his son.... or if indeed those tweats are composed on the basis of conversations WITH his son.

It happens doesn't it? In any environment (even on internet forums!) - some of the 'old hands' get ideas of their own importance. They think they are more than the collective.

That said, experienced managers (in any workplace) have to learn to deal with that and some are undoubtedly more adept at it than others. I'm quite sure Ranieri has encountered it before.... if indeed it is happening.

Over the past few weeks he's dropped both full backs, tried all combinations of midfielders, dropped the two wingers and dropped Vardy and Slimani. The only players who haven't been dropped are Huth and Morgan and that's simply because there is nobody else at the minute.

Dropping a player doesn't mean for one game. He's rested players and allowed them back in without questioning if they're better than the back up player.

I think he's been trying 'slowly slowly' within the limited options available to him. I guess converting what he does on the training ground to the match day is hit and miss. He may be being let down by his players.

Unless he enjoys seeing long throws to the opposition keeper I can't imagine what he thinks allows Fuchs to keep his place.

not for a fact, but he can't possibly be unhappy with Chilwell's performances to the point that Fuchs is preferable. Fuchs is currently playing like McGivern for **** sake.

If this is true I would still expect professionalism. These guys are being paid handsomely to do what their boss tells them and they bloody well should.
