A few days ago I created a new user group, for every normal member who has made 10+ posts, with exactly the same settings and permissions as they had previously, so it should have been completely transparent to everyone that was affected. But this is the group of people that appear not to be able to place bets.
I created the new group so the default group for new members could have a few restrictions, as an anti-spam thing. New members with fewer than 10 posts can no longer post new threads, and they can't post to blogs. There have been a lot of auto registrations recently of spammers who have been using the blog function, and this new setting should stop them from posting. They can however place vbets, and this function is working correctly for this group of people.
I can't get to the bottom of why this has stopped people from placing bets. I've double checked the permissions and they're all correct. I've updated all the things that should be updated. I don't think the end of season database reset will sort this out, but I'll still be doing that after the current events have finished.
