So. Positives...

Last season we achieved a 'once-in-a-lifetime' Premiership win for Leicester City Football Club.
We are now in the last 16 of the Champions League.

Negatives...

We are now just outside of the relegation places in the Premiership.
Summer recruitment looks way off par.
We have star players not performing.
We have a system we can't hurt teams with anymore, as the counter attack is being nullified.
We have a midfield and defence who suddenly looks well below par.
Lots of our Premiership winning side now look broken.

So...

What the Filbert does Claudio do? Seriously?? What / how do we sort this out? Is the answer in the team selection? Is the problem the injury to Mendy?

I think we are in a serious nosedive. How do we get out of it?

A nosedive normally ends in the water, or on the ground. Either way it ends suddenly, and depending on the height it started from, either very hard or just fine.

Let Vardy and Mahrez go in January. Drop players when they're playing shit/half arsed. start okazaki in every game.

Simples

Drop and if possible sell Vardy seems a good start to me too.

The big change is in central midfield. We need Drinkwater back and we need a partner for him. We also need to consider changing shape. Simples.

With sadness look for urgent replacements for Huth, Fuchs and someone to slot in in front of the back 4.

Get them in for training 6:00am tomorrow and give them a ****ing beasting. Repeat every time they don't turn up for a game.

Stop talking about being champions. Make it ****ing clear that none of them are champions and won't deserve that tag until they leave it all out there on the pitch.

I had a great year last year at work. Doesn't mean I get to do nothing this year. This year is year 0. There is no winning, there is no losing, there is just the battle and it takes place every day for the rest of your days so toughen the **** up.

And very finally, make it abundantly clear that anyone not leaving it all out there on the field if the discussion needs to be had again won't be playing in the Champions League again and can train with the under 21's until they find themselves a new club.

Huth is our best defender. He maybe slow but he defends. He'll be ideal against a quick young stud.

Band of brothers unified by a special bond my hairy arse.

I'd be embarrassed to call that a defence of a title. No one expects a top 6 finish. We do expect effort. it is called professionalism and pride.

Can you imagine what Alex Ferguson would be saying/doing now if this was his team that won the league the previous season by ten points. I love Claudio, but bullshitting on about a bell is old.

All of them top to bottom need to wake the **** up. The time for jokes is over.

Too many errors for me, coupled with issues with pace and how many times he is getting beaten in set peice situations in the box tell me there's a problem to solve there.

Agree with blue, defence has been the most disappointing thing after they looked so solid all last season. Morgan the same, fair enough we haven't got the same defensive cover without Kante but the docile nature of our defending set pieces is inexcusable. We have a real problem in the middle and at the back and if we finally sort that out hopefully Mahrez and Vardy will click into life again. Okazaki has to start in the league too. Slimani always tends to look for the pass out to Mahrez when I feel sometimes I'd like to see him take more responsibility and take players on and try to make things happen.

So - did Kante protect the back four enormously last season, or has the honeymoon with Fuchs etc run out and we're now looking at what these players do in "usual" performances? I used Fuchs on purpose. Feels to me like he's just waiting to run with his fashion brand in the US; whilst last season was useful, this one he couldn't really give two... about.

Thing is, what do we do? January is a big month for Foxes all of a sudden... Just like it was for Ollie when he was in charge..

Easy. Only need to change one thing. Start winning games.

If we start winning games the team confidence will return, we'll keep the same line-up, Vardy will start scoring goals, the players will be smiling, the team will be livelier, fitter, and we'll probably go up the league.

Now, how do we do that winning games thing?

By scoring more goals than the others

This was inevitable really, wasn't it? At least if we'd have sold some assets in the summer the expectations would have been tempered, Southampton know how to do that. Unfortunately, and with hindsight we rewarded everyone to the level of removing incentive.

Ranieri has compounded this by sticking with a team of untouchables, waiting for them to fire, well guess what? They haven't and they won't. It's gone too far for me already but when when will he start asking questions? When does Musa start instead of Vardy? When does Gray start instead of Mahrez? When does Ranieri start questioning desire? Because that's the issue here.

We are 12/1 for the drop. Incredible.

I'm all for Gray starting because he's shown glimpses of promise during his substitute appearances. But in my opinion Musa has done nothing in his recent appearances to warrant a start.

Sad to say, we weren't mentally strong enough to handle being champions. Resources have been frittered away on doubtful purchases and last year's winners have been over-rewarded. Attitude and motivation is key. It feels like we are starting games on the basis that let's hold on as best we can and hope that the opposition doesn't score. We don't seem to have the motivation, skill or organisation to provide a threat.

I don't think that it's helpful to look for scapegoats because you can point to so many individual failures - everyone needs to take responsibility, forget that they miraculously won the league and start playing in this season instead of milking last season. .

I doubt if there are many options for drastic changes in selection. These will further reduce with the ACof N - and I don't know how the club will be able to get better and experienced players to sign in January. The existing staff and club hierarchy needs to wake up and show they have woken up.

Whilst our defence seems to be getting the worst of it here, I think we always knew it was the weak link and it doesn't have the back-up to replace players. Midfield we brought in Mendy who has been injured but in attack we've got the players to bring in and we're not. Looking at Arsenal, Spurs, Manchester et al their strikers are putting away chances yet we're sticking with Vardy who hasn't looked close to scoring - and he is getting service. slimani and Musa haven't yet been given the runs they need to settle in. That is what needs to change. Vardy needs to be dropped and forgotten until he gets his hunger back which doesn't lokk like it will ever happen.

If Sanchez or Kane or Costa etc... were playing in place of Vardy they would be scoring and the other problems would resolve themselves. This game is about putting away chances.
