I wish i could offer more coherent advice but i was quite young. I know my hearing is not as good as everyone elses ( particularly if a sound is from behind or 2 sounds about the same level seem to block each other out) but i used to be in so much pain it was worth it i think in the long run, but you've got to decide that with your doc,
