Also i dont know when XG was first made up, but when we won the league I doubt we finished top of the XG charts then either. We just happen to have very good players.
But quality and individual skill does play a part in games. XG alone is bullshit. A shot from 6 yards centre of goal with 6 defenders to block it on the line is worth more than an open goal tap in outside the box. Brighton have Maupay to sky it but we have Maddison to find a gap in tje first...
Perhaps a sign that we are currently 'too good to go down'
Shows progress in the long term but we need to make sure we arrest the slide. A couple more iffy signings and sales of our match winners could soon see that change.
I'm still happy to keep him. So long as we don't look like going down. Which we won't.
If next season starts just as badly then i think hes had long enough.
10th on the all time premier league is Owen with 150. Vardy needs 28 to better that. Think he's got a fair chance of beating that over the next 2 seasons.
Who or how anyone else supports Leicester has no bearing on my own support. If people from elsewhere want to get in on the feel good factor, who cares. Ill still support and attend in my own way. Some of our very own born and bred diehards are far worse anyway.
He should absolutely have Maddisons spot. He earnt his place off the back of last season, he shouldn't need to be proving himself again with cameos. Like you say, just his cameos this season should have seen him start by now.
Anyway regarding the game, i cant wait to see us in European action again after missing out last year. The champions league nights we're amazing if i forget my away trip to Porto.
Yep. Napoli is just about the biggest tie you can get in this competition bar one of the really big clubs dropping down. Whilst our strongest 11 is debatable within a few positions, senior players being dropped for a squad player won't go down well imo.
Can't imagine its going to impress Tielemans being rested for a prestigious game against Napoli. Qualifying for Europes still an achievement and i doubt the senior players will like being dropped in the more glamorous ties.
Only a few clubs can be classed as genuinely bigger. The rest like us will always have up and down periods. Fan base, success stadium etc means nothing. We've seen a few so called bigger clubs lower down, Everton have just been lucky not to get relegated. They've been close.
Perhaps if anything...
If we're not good enough to win the Europa then we're certainly not good enough for top 4.
Man Utd and Chelsea have won it in recent years. Man Utd are in another final and Liverpool have been in a recent final.
No he should be praised for improving our points total and delivering a cup. His target next season should be to improve the points total yet again and take the Europa seriously.
Big summer of rest needed for Vardy. Im hoping the congested season is a big factor in his lack of goalscoring and not age finally catching up with him.
I was 10 and we we're playing Derby in that play off final. My initial interest was sparked by the semi final in which i believe Speedie won against Tranmere.
Anyway i remember the build up to the game and hearing that a Leicester fan had an actual Rams head at the final.
We however were going...
