Advice On Kindle Please

I have to buy a Kindle this week and at the moment am thinking of the cheapest version the Kindle 4. However, it would be useful to have one that included Wikipedia. It would also be very useful to be able to select text from a Kindle page and transfer it (presumably through a USB) to Microsoft Word on my PC.

Can I get Wikipedia on Kindle 4 or do I have to go for a more expoensive model?
Can I transfer text from a Kindle book to Word on a PC?

Wikipedia is on the net. All kindles can connect to the web. I believe the more expensive versions have free 3G connectivity.

PS the built in English and American dictionaries are great.

Whichever Kindle you get, or any other e-book reafder for that matter I suggest you install 'Calibre' E Book Management software on your PC.
With this you can convert any e-book format e-pub, azw, lit, pdf, mobi, Kindle from one to another. You will store ALL your books on your PC and load your current selections to your reader. Particularly helpful if you have a smaller storage Kindle. You can use Calibre to convert whole books to PDF and then open the PDF into Word if you have the gizmo. For individual sections you can highlight in Calibre and copy and paste straight into Word, or any DTP program. For this you will not need to connect the reader to your PC.

You can use Calibre to read books on your PC or laptop, find books on the www and locate 1,000's of freebies. If your happy to use a laptop you don't need a e-reader at all. I've got over 400 books and altogether pai just over £18 for the lot.
