Leicester City are delighted to announce that Brendan Rodgers has committed to a new contract with the Club to June 2025.

Appointed City’s First Team Manager in February, Brendan has enjoyed a hugely promising start to his Leicester career. City have won 17 of 26 Premier League matches since Brendan’s appointment and currently sit second in the table after equalling a 56-year-old Club record of seven consecutive top-flight victories.

Leicester City Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: “Brendan’s qualities as a coach are well-known and evident in the way he has sought to unlock the potential in every member of our exciting young squad.

“But just as important to us is the suitability of Brendan’s wider philosophy to the Club’s established culture and values. He and his staff immersed themselves immediately, building an understanding for the Club and the city and an appreciation for what makes them special.

“That has been a valuable combination over the last nine months – strengthening the bond between our players, staff and supporters – and I’m excited to see how it can continue to enhance our long-term vision for the Club.”

Brendan Rodgers said: “When I made the decision to come to Leicester City, it was because I was excited about the direction the Club was taking and how I could apply my experience to the journey. I came here with a purpose to add something to that and to help the Club build for the future.

“The support I have had from the Chairman, Khun Top; from the Chief Executive, Susan Whelan; from the Director of Football, Jon Rudkin; and from everyone at the Club has been amazing. I’ve inherited an outstanding team of staff that are dedicated to progress and improvement and we have a group of players that are a joy to work with every day.

“And to the Club’s supporters, I can only say thank you for welcoming me and my staff into your Club and for putting your faith in our work. We’ll continue to work together to bring success to Leicester City for many years to come.”

Leicester City’s Premier League campaign continues on Sunday, as the Foxes travel to Villa Park to face Aston Villa.

Brendan Rodgers will be reacting to the announcement of his new contract live on LCFC TV from 1pm GMT on Matchday Minus Two.

Oh well, it looks like were stuck with him then.

:)

I'll be honest. I don't think he will stay for the whole term but that doesn't really matter.

The fact that he has put pen to paper again as well making such a brilliant statement means so much more than saying something in the press.

This ****ing club....well ****ing done!!! There's absolutely no reason we can't be a new powerhouse.

Excellent news. Puts those mid-table clubs with ideas above their station back in their place.

Damn! I was hoping we’d get a proper manager like Pardew when he ran off to Arsenal!

It probably doesn’t change much in the medium to long term but it does issue a cast iron **** off notice to any washed up pretend super clubs thinking of poaching him. Gives us a nice little momentum boost too.

Good on you Brendycakes, I love you. X

Massive pay rise and buyout clause is higher, will put clubs off a bit more like you say

Excellent news - and well deserved following the performances and results he's achieved since he arrived

Maybe he can afford to kick Klopp out of his house now.
Liverpool FC have bought the house from Rodgers for Klopp to live in.

This puts an end to the recent speculation and will do much to improve how BR is thought of in terms of loyalty.

He's been a sensational appointment and I'm delighted to see what happens next.

On the other hand, manager contracts are meaningless and if he wants another opportunity, he'll still go.

He's on exactly the same salary, but the release clause has been changed from £14million to 50 marbles

Hard to believe. I know, but the genuine truth

Wow, a new contract after just 9 months is some statement.

I'm sure it's a huge payrise, but it's also a shwo of commitment from Rodgers because it prices him out of moves elsewhere too.

Excellent. I think he's the perfect fit for us now and our vision going forwards, and with the new training ground on the horizon it's exciting times ahead.
