broadband problems

BT are reporting a major service outage, about a 1/4 of all their UK exchanges have lost their broadband connections.
So if you can't read this message, that's probably the reason why! :icon_wink

I don't quite understand this.

The BT site is down, I can't access my emails from all 7 of my accts (all use the BT pop3 mailbox). The 2 that don't are fine. (all Outlook)

So they obviously have a server issue

Why am I still able to browse the web?

My internet went down for about a week and that turned out to be from problems with the first lot of storms we had a few weeks ago that seems to have damaged my router. Im now using the modem supplied by talktalk.
