A vintage Joe Calzaghe outpointed Mikkel Kessler and claimed the undisputed super middleweight crown at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.
Calzaghe, making the 21st defence of his WBO belt, started slowly and was hurt on a number of occasions by Denmark's WBA and WBC title-holder.
But the home favourite took control in the middle rounds and dug deep down the stretch to secure a unanimous decision. Calzaghe, unbeaten in 44 fights, was watched by an estimated 50,000 fans.

Awesome stuff:038:

Why do "household named" boxers only fght people they know they'll beat?

To be fair to Calzaghe the middle weight division is very poor, hardly any people coming through. He can only fight the people in front of him!

I could be wrong but i thought Calzaghe was above middle weight:102:.
But your right about that division. The 80's were the golden days with Tommy Hearns, Duran, Sugar Ray Leonard, and my fav Marvin Hagler. Some awesome fights in that decade

if you like watching 2 men in shorts beat each other up you are so gay.
