DNS problems

Some people may be having problems accessing the site at the moment. This is due to DNS problems at a company in n*tt*ngh*m, and is beyond my control - thousands of websites are affected by this.

The problem hasn't been fixed yet.

It's working OK for people where their ISP has cached the DNS records, so there's the chance it could stop working for some people even if it's working at the moment.

I've had a reply from their support people...

We had an issue with one of our nameservers which has now been successfully been resolved.

Please allow 24 hours for propagation.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Please allow 24 hours for propagation.

One thing to try is to access the site with/without the www at the start of the url (try the opposite of what you usually use).

Or try using a proxy server.

I knew when they said it was fixed it hadn't been.

This is the latest from their support people:

We are currently aware of a problem regarding 123-reg nameservers which in turn is affecting the visibility of websites and services such as email. At present, we have engineers looking into this as a matter of urgency. Please be assured we are working to rectify this issue as a priority and hope to resume normal service as soon as possible. Thank you for your patience in the mean time. We apologise for any inconvenience caused.

I will be moving the DNS away from them because this is the second problem they've had in a few months, but it could take a while for the change to take effect.
