Anyone have any ideas on what's the best software for ripping audio off DVDs into mp3?

I use 'Audacity' http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Its a totally free audio editor that allows you to record whatever sound your PC is using as a wave that you can edit if you wish and save as mp3.

It means you have to play the bit of DVD you want as you record it, you can't just find the audio files on the DVD and convert them automaticly, life is not that simple.

I recon it's a great audio tool and completly free.

I've used audacity but hadn't considered it for this, so thanks. but i suppose the problem is that you have to ensure there are no other noises from your pc during the recording?

It is a digital signal that you are recording so PC noises won't be an issue.
