i have just tried to load up excel to do some work!

and i comes up with a message saying i have to install it again! but it came already installed on the computer! :icon_conf

anyone know where it might have gone and how to get it back,

i need it as ive got work in for next week.:icon_eek:

should have got a disc with your pc for occasions like this.

Sometimes they don't supply program cds/dvds with new pcs, but when they do that they usually provide images on the hard drive that you can use to create your own.

I'm sure some versions of Works have a spreadsheet program. It's not as good as Excel but it's fine for most things.

Have you tried openening up the USB stick, right clicking on the file you require, choose "open with" and seeing if you have a spreadsheet option?

Try Open Office, it will open Excel spreadsheets, and it's free.

i dont know

it just kept going to error messages and then when it finally did start it got half way and cancelled it self.

its ok though a mate has office 2003 and is going to let me install it in a bit.

I've just installed open office (independantly of this thread) as I am starting up a company and didn't want to shell out for Office. It is ace and works a treat.

To Scarby, I had the same problem with excel where I work currently, if you keep clicking cancel when it asks for the disc it generally runs fine. The only way I managed to get rid was to reinstall the software.

i borrowed a mates disc and repaired the software and it works fine now.

its ok as they never used it.

plus if they did stand on that - they would crack the disc
