York players attacked by Luton fans

Well....they had stuff chucked at them anyhoo!

Been watching it on SSN this evening and tbh it's quite disgraceful scenes from Kenilworth Road.


York beat Luton 2-0 on aggregate to get through to the play-off final and their players were understandabley celebrating in front of their fans, loads of Luton 'fans' were already on the pitch being held back by the stewards and police but where they were it had blocked off the tunnel so the York players couldn't get back to the dressing rooms via the pitch, next thing you see them having stuff thrown at them and they were having to shelter at the back of the away stand:icon_eek: and were ushered down the stairs nearest the tunnel by the stewards one by one, whilst still having stuff chucked at them!

I mean, I know folks go on the pitch to celebrate but errr.... Luton had just lost, and I can see them getting a points deduction for what went on this afternoon.

Apparently their local radio was blaming the York players for celebrating:icon_roll

The Oak road stand is right next to block G where the MIGS populate. If York City FC had done their homework properly they would have waited 5 mins for Lee and his lot to get back down the Whitehouse before they started celebrating right in front of them.

I'm not condoning what the MIGS (well, wannabe's) did tonight, but its obvious to all away teams/fans really that that block in the oak road stand is kept empty for a reason.

Luton v Sheff Wed in the cup would now be more tasty than Millwall v West Ham. Could just put the Luton fans and the Sheff players in one goal mouth, Sheff fans and Luton players in the other
