The annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded Summer 2013 rumours thread

Exceptional pub player who maximises his build and his limited skills. Keep him, I would hope to get better

That is definitely what we got when we bought him, no doubt about it

He improved dramatically last season. You would be getting back a much better player

As good as gone I reckon.

I wouldn't want to leave either. Nice salary and can run his contract down and pocket a large signing on fee next season. He's in the box seat.

City, on the other hand, can't win. Sell him and you lose a good player, keep him and get nothing for him next summer.

Depending on our ambitions for next year, I reckon I'd sell.

If we sell Morgan then our ambitions for this season will be quite clear.

Losing Morgan and Kasper would be a massive blow, one would be bad enough but they were two cornerstones from our season last year that came so close to achieving the target and would be a good few steps back losing them and having to replace.

I suppose in terms of our ambitions, it depends how seriously FFP is taken.

If the club take it seriously I'd say "reduce the wage bill, don't get relegated" seems about right.

I'm guessing the approach looks like this:

1. Do best to clear out the deadwood, even if it means free transfers, in an effort to reduce the wage bill.
2. Listen to offers for any player at the top end of the wage bill.
3. Don't extend any contracts that involve real money.
4. Let the kids play it out.

It reminds me a great deal of the NFL season prior to the proposed player's strike. Teams (especially the Panthers) simply refused to invest in players, dumped bad contracts, let their lame duck coach's contract expire, and waited it out.

The Panthers went 2-14 that year. It was shit.

Needless to say, I'm not as optimistic as Dion.

Is 2-14 an after hours nightclub?

No surprise it is shit if that's what time it opens.

Doncaster manager Paul Dickov has told BBC Radio Sheffield's @Walkerpw they won't be signing #LCFC midfielder Richie Wellens this summer.

You could follow the Aaron Hernandez murder case..that's a pretty insane story.

Seems strange but I found it more fascinating that a position in American Football is called a tight end!?!

TBH I was more looking forward to BBC keeping their live news feed on Edward Snowden's travels going as I was looking forward to hearing that he had made it to Ecuador fine and is now having a coke and hooker binge with Julian Assange.

I'm presuming he is referring the the LCFC XI that will be playing the mighty Ilkeston & Corby soon.

Very good player at this level in his time but it does seem he is past that now.

Richie Wellens - "“I believe I am one of the best midfielders in the Championship and I am looking to establish myself back in the Leicester starting XI next season."

Good lord.

I'm sure that, like me, you can read the code: "Who is going to pay me anything like the salary that I'm on here? It's going to take a VERY lucrative payment from LCFC before I look for employ elsewhere!"

Richie Wellens - "“I believe I am one of the best midfielders in the Championship and I am looking to establish myself back in the Leicester starting XI next season."

Maybe, dear old Richie had a massive fall out with NP towards the end of last season and was told to stay away from the club. Maybe, the club and RW have been playing silly buggers ever since negotiating paying off vast sums that were bizarrely written into his contract. Maybe, both parties were desperately hopeful of a compromise involving a move to Doncaster. Maybe, Doncaster thought RW was asking for silly money when his legs have gone so told him where to go. Maybe, RW is advised to plant a story designed to properly piss NP off about him being one of the best midfielders in the Universe, blah, blah in order to reawaken the negotiations before he has to actually return to the training ground next week.

Could be total bollocks of course, I'm certainly no authority.
