Our longest away trip of the season, but relatively easy to get to. M1, M18, A1M, approx 190 miles.

The stadium is in the city centre, within easy walking distance of the railway station. It also has a metro station close by, and is near the bus stations and main shopping area. Due to its location parking can be difficult and expensive.

There are a number of options if you want to drive but don't want to park near the ground.
You could park at the Metro Centre (free), just off the A1, and get the train from there to Newcastle Central (£2.70 return, trains every 30 minutes, journey time 10 minutes). The Metro Centre has a lot of places to eat and drink pre-match, if you don't want to go to the city centre.
You could park close to a metro station, and get the metro to St James. A Metro day ticket costs between £2.60 and £4.50 depending on the number of zones you travel in. More info here: http://www.nexus.org.uk/metro

If you want to go by train, hopefully you've already got your ticket, as there are no cheap advance tickets left. The normal return ticket price is £97.20. You can get this down to £81 by splitting tickets at Sheffield, York and Darlington, which won't change your journey, just the number of tickets you buy. You could save another £5 by splitting tickets at Northallerton, but not all trains stop there.

If you have a couple of hours spare in Newcastle I recommend the Body Worlds Vital exhibition - http://www.life.org.uk/whats-on/body-worlds

The ground is at the top left of the map, the railway station at the bottom.

The away end is right at the top of a stand, a long way from the pitch. Take your binoculars!

If parking at the metrocentre, it's more convenient to get one of the hundred or so buses every hour that go to monument/haymarket. Pretty much any stop on the south side of bus station will drop you off near the ground.
