He played well he just needs to offload quicker when surrounded this will create huge gaps in defences.

I hope he stays his pass to vardy which chech intercepted was sublime!
This is true he dwells on it, loses the ball then complains all too often

He does he is trying to do too much imo players have to give him an option to pass or at least turn his defender and get his head up, it was clear Wenger was worried about him hence the constant pressure from the Ox.

Tosh, if he can't beat a right sided player, playing on the left, maybe he's not as good as he thinks he is!

**** all this, I want to know why Mahrez doesn't score a hat trick every match.

He was great in that season, but don't let the highlights reel make you think he was God in every match. We need to get ****ing realistic!

The guy is an unbelieveable talent however it is clear it has come to a stage where we need to accept 35-40m move him on and move forward. Albrighton showed last night that you don't need fancy tricks to be creative and effective. Mahrez looks slow and laboured in possession, with the exception of one or two moments last night he ran into blind alleys, tried to take people on in the wrong areas and put us under pressure defensively, whilst he tracks back for me he lacks conviction and on too many occasions he is leaving Simpson exposed, in the title winning season it worked, however last season and last night it doesn't work and Mahrez isn't contributing in the same manner. We need to evolve and for me whilst Gray doesn't have the natural talent of Mahrez, I do feel over 90 minutes he would be more effective than Mahrez is.

I may be completely wrong but I have a feeling that he will stay. His performances are clearly not of the same level as the title winning season and we are asking for a lot of money (50 million). I don't think anyone will be prepared to take the risk on a big outlay. Once the window has shut we could find ourselves with the old Mahrez again.

If he miraculously discovers the old Mahrez (being based on one season) I will be very surprised.

I don't think he fancies Roma, and from a footballing perspective I'm not sure why you would.

He's getting no attention from the 'big clubs' he desperately wants to joint, I can only hope he realises why that is and we reap some kind of benefit.

I think it is getting to the stage that the only way he gets his big move is if he rediscovers his form with us. Win win for Leicester.

He is going to have to have one hell of a season, perhaps even better than he did in 15/16, for an established champions league club to consider buying him now in my opinion.

His talent is undeniable. His application is sometimes questionable. It's frustrating.

I'm quietly hoping that he realises that the lack of interest is not entirely due to the price tag (it wouldn't deter a 'big club') but there being questions. I think he needs a bit of a reality check; Barca are not in for him.

Question is, at £35-40m does that represent good business for us?

I'd take £35-40 based on last nights shambles.

You can tell he was desperate not to get injured so that he can get his move, so never once put a foot in. Which is why it was a joke decision to play him last night.

In fairness, he's not a tackler and never has been. He's a lightweight will-o'-the-wisp of a player. He's easily dispossessed too, for the same reason, ... IF they can get close to him. The trick is to get the ball to him when he has a bit of space to compose himself. From an opposition point of view, close him down and you pretty much nullify the threat.

He was stranded quite a few times last night, with Drinkwater and Kante they would always be in a triangle to support Mahrez. Last night, when Riyad had three on him at times, it was very hard for him to find a get out.

I thought it interesting that the Sky pundits thought that he was back to his 15/16 self and was the perfect example of how a player wanting a move should be.

Well I don't know what they were sniffing then. He was regularly pulling out of tackles. Fair enough, he's not a defender so we can forgive that - he's tracking back the runners and that's enough defensively. But he was so greedy as if he was trying to impress Wenger and in the process of trying to do too much by himself and avoiding the easy pass he regularly turned over possession and made himself look like a fool. There was clearly just not the same level of effort there that there was from some of the other players. Vardy, Albrighton, Okazaki and Fuchs I thought were outstanding.

Absolutely. He was told when younger that he was too small and not strong enough to be a footballer.

That is why he developed the tricks, in order to dance around the opposition.

Marked out of the game by an opposition attacker. A player as good as he thinks he is would be embarrassed.
