The U23s have won 2-1 vs Arsenal at Holmes Park today. Knight and Ndukwu with the goals.

It's telling that none of them are even considered for the first team though isn't it? A couple of bright young sparks into the first team over recent weeks would have done us the world of good. None of them have even had a sniff of the bench.

They're doing even worse than the first team.

The under 23s were bottom of their league before today's game, and hadn't won for ten games.

The under 18s are next to bottom of their league, and haven't won a league game since August.
why does anyone care where they are in the league? its not there to win titles its there to produce talented players it can lose every game if it does that

It rarely does.

Our academy is shite

Talented players aren't just good technically, they also have a winning mentality. If they don't give a shit about losing every week they're not going to make it as a professional.

I see Dean Hammond played again.

I wouldn't be too disappointed if we signed him as a free agent and chucked him in the team. He can't do any worse than some of the other duffers we have in that position.

(I can't believe I'm suggesting that we sign Dean Hammond, but that's how desperate we are now)

If we're so good at developing perfect athletic footballers, why is it that we don't have a conveyor belt of talent coming through?

Because we're prem league champions and that's a big step up, if we were relegation strugglers then maybe we'd have the odd one each year or so, championship we'd have a couple, league 3 a team full.

Beat Tottering 4-1 tonight at their place.

ManC helping our "kids" staying up. Soton were 2-0 up but it's now 4-2 to ManC, which means relegation will be avoided.

2 things to say about that -

1) Great result, looked like we battered them
2) I'm always really impressed by Choudhury's hair
