Was it a decent season or not?

Got to be fairly happy with how it turned out and that we are safe but it's hard not to be disappointed by the wasted potential of this season given that we won the league last season and that only Chelsea and Spurs have picked up more league points than us this season since Ranieri left. By and large our recruitment has also been very poor this year with only Ndidi really justifying his price tag.

We have shown that we should've done so much better.

We've wasted an opportunity to be in European competition next season and have good players considering us as potential suitors.

Overall I'm very disappointed though top half of the table isn't bad historically.

I really do think we have a very talented squad that has underperformed this season we should have been above Everton IMO

If you'd said we'd finish 9th and compete well in the CL Quarter Finals I'd have probably taken it.

But what's become clear is that none of the top teams bar Chelsea are any better than they were last season despite the A-list managers and the big money signings, and we're still pretty good when we want to be. Despite Walsh largely ****ing up the summer recruitment and Claudio ****ing up the rest we still had a team capable of getting into the top-4 again, so in that context it has to be seen as a massive wasted opportunity, possible the best opportunity we have ever had and will ever get to establish ourselves as anything but a yo-yo club.

I'm not happy. We had a once in a lifetime chance to build on the greatest success this club has ever had. Not necessarily to win the league again, but to give us a great chance to finish in the top 4. Our chance to do that was to use our success to attract talent, build on the foundations, strengthen with quality. Instead (Ndidi excluded) we have spunked a massive wad on utter shit and now we have the same bargaining position as a West Brom (no disrespect intended).

Who can be happy with that?

It is better than relegation. Having won the league by ten points the year before I probably would not call it adequate either. It is underwhelming. Add to that these guys visibly improved their levels of output after Ranieri went. Form since Shakey took over would put us currently 4th.

No. Not happy at all. Glad to be staying up. Glad not to be earning a dubious award of relegated champions. Pleased? No. Content? No. If I had to put an emotion to it, I can only say that I am relieved. Still wish football had just ended at the conclusion of last season.

Second highest finishing position in the League in over 17 long miserable years

Plus we got to the Champions League quarter finals, FFS

What a truly rotten shitty season - right up there with the shittest ever

Losing Cate early on in the season compounded the problems due to a misfiring Macky and BM's inability to contribute regularly.

Even playing BN back in his comfortable midfield role of holding the tin foil hat, and getting Redditch to return to carping for no apparent reason, didn't pay off for us. For the most part, I put this down to Jeff's abysmal recruitment policy of taking any ****tard willing to transfer from Foxyshitcreche.

I'm looking forward to next season with hope. I'm voting JoeFox.

A Midtable finish and quarter finals of the champions league looks like a decent season, and I would have been happy with that before the season started, but that doesn't tell the story of our season.

Looking back on so many disappointing performances, individually and as a team, so much wasted money in transfers, and then looking at recent performances it's hard not to feel disappointed, and that we have wasted a fantastic opportunity for no good reasons.

Spot on, the nights at home in the CL were the stuff that dreams are made of, not supposed to be for the likes of us.
