Marco Silva has rightly got an excellent reputation as a young coach. The job he has done at each of the clubs he's worked at is impressive, including leading Slimani and co. to a trophy in Portugal (their first one in 7 years).
The job at Hull was pretty much impossible. The club is/was a farce and in January they sold their main two assets in Livermore and Snodgrass. Despite this, had Hull maintained their form under Silva over an entire season, they would have got more points than we did last year.
Listen to the Hull players talk about him and you'll get an idea of what he's about. They gave him their all.
Personally, I'd prefer Mancini. I can only assume that the longer we go without appointing Shakespeare (or anyone else), the more it has to do with us waiting on somebody. It may be that we're waiting on Mancini to make a decision about where he's going before we consider other options.

I read his record with them was 8-3-11 on the BBC. How many did we lose in the whole of our title winning season?
I'm sure he's a good manager but most teams (us included) have a rebound effect after a manager's sacking and then reality sets in. On your criteria if Leicester had maintained their form under shakey we would have had a perfect season.

He did. Under the most impossible of situations and with about 15 players at his disposal after all of their assets worthy of anything had been sold, he still managed to put some fire and fight into them and got some near impossible results. His reputation is excellent and for good reason. I'm not saying we should go for him, I'm really not sure about the whole manager situation at all. To say that he isn't good enough because Hull were relegated is just nonsense however. Newcastle were relegated with Benitez but I think a lot of fans would take him in a heartbeat.
