Perhaps im overly critical but Benitez hasn't done a great job this season either. He's spent almost a gazillion sponds to tumble over the line ahead of a team featuring Glenn Murray.

He did. Under the most impossible of situations and with about 15 players at his disposal after all of their assets worthy of anything had been sold, he still managed to put some fire and fight into them and got some near impossible results. His reputation is excellent and for good reason. I'm not saying we should go for him, I'm really not sure about the whole manager situation at all. To say that he isn't good enough because Hull were relegated is just nonsense however. Newcastle were relegated with Benitez but I think a lot of fans would take him in a heartbeat.

I know there's different circumstances so you can't really compare the Newcastle and Hull situations...but there's a bit of a difference between 10 games to save your season, and 18 games.

Although saying that, I would have Silva over Benitez.

I remember when we appointed Ranieri, I said that I always rated him alongside Benitez as similar managers. Most people called this silly and said Benitez was miles better. Funny how times change.

By the way, it looks very much like Silva is going to Watford. A smart move by them I think. They strike me as a very cleverly run club nowadays.

Don't get me wrong, I am not saying Benitez is shite or anything daft like that. His career has been mostly unexpected success or complete shambles, Newcastle career more of a meh rating. What he would bring though is a common theme of falling out with people, be it owners or the team. We need to decide if we go for someone to fry the chicken and cuddle our darling players or kick the arsey ****ers in to touch. He may do the latter of course which would be grand. Though he did **** Xabi Alonso off as he wanted Garry Barry....so **** that for a plan.

I agree. My point was that dismissing a manager just because they were relegated, as was suggested (regardless of all else) is daft.

If you can't appreciate what an excellent job he did at Hull, you're a bit more than daft imo

I don't think anyone actually said that. They did question why a manager with such a poor record (fact) in the prem would be considered for a job with a team aiming for top 6.

With regards the point you made it wouldn't be that far fetched though would it? After all how many prem managers were sacked because their team was in danger of going down? (including the previous year's prem champion manager). they couldn't all have gone down. He had a chance to save Hull and failed.

Shakey thinks that Vardy can challenge Kane for the golden boot next season. It'll help if his team doesn't allow Kane to score 4 goals in a match against them.

It's crazy isn't it? The man was working with a paper think squad, barely able to scrape enough players for a team some weeks and still managed to keep them fighting relegation pretty much to the end. When you think of what Sunderland and Middlesbrough had at their disposal compared to what Silva had at Hull, they really should have been rock bottom.

Anyway, regardless, I'm still no more convinced about him as our manager than I am anyone else at present and therein lies the problem. There's no real standout candidates and I include Mancini in that, so it's a bit of a tough decision the owners have to make.

I know I might get laughed at, but I'd prefer David Moyes over Mancini/Silva/Benitez.

He did a great job at Preston and Everton. At United he had the mammoth task of taking over from Ferguson, and let's face it Van Gaal or Mourinho have hardly done any better since. He didn't do the best job at Sociedad, true. I don't think he can be that harshly judged by his spell at Sunderland seeing as they've been fighting relegation for years and haven't got a pot to piss in.

I'm not saying he's the best option, but I'd have him over most. My preferred is still David Wagner. Perhaps we're waiting to see what happens with Huddersfield in the play off final.

Has Enrique actually said he would not be interested in being our manager?

This assumes that our owners have had the balls/vision to ask him.

I now see your problem. you don't understand or you're blinded by your need to disagree with me.

My comment was in relation to him becoming our manager - that is what this thread is about - nothing to do with him being sacked because Hull were relegated.

So you're just arguing with me because you need to.

Just to give you some fuel. Apparently Leicester were down if they stuck with CR, that means Hull survive, Craig comes in and outdoes Hull so why would he be any better for us than our Craig?

Is Garry Parker available.

David Moyes?

David feckin' Moyes

save me sweet Babba Jebus, save me please
