David Moyes would be an absolute car crash. He's never had any real success. Even at Everton. Sunderland were relegated without a ball being kicked this season after they appointed him. His signings have been terrible for years. Reverting to the same tried and trusted (and shit) players. His tactics are worst. Suck in the yester year and not adapting. Even Everton wanted him gone in his last few years.
I'd be shocked if any club in the prem goes near him for a few years. He needs to drop a few levels.

Not even at Everton? You don't think turning a team who were constantly bottom half of the table into a regular top 6 team can be classed as successful?
I would say Sunderland were relegated without a ball being kicked regardless of who they appointed. Doomed.

Just like players, most managers have a shelf life. With players, this comes to a natural conclusion when the body slows down. With managers, loads of things can happen which end their hunger and energy for the job.
It is extremely challenging being a football manager. Many just run out of gas. Quite a lot get affected by something negative happening and are never the same again.
Moyes is a perfect example of a manager that has been affected by both of these main factors. He seemed bored at Sunderland. He knows he had his big chance at Man Utd and blew it. He'll never be any good again and you get the impression that he knows it.
Allardyce impressed me this week by retiring. Usually managers get sacked into retirement and haven't the self-awareness or integrity to bow out themselves.
A great example was Martin O'Neill. He was fantastically driven until his wife got ill, after which he was never the same again. Still very smart and clever, and perfectly capable of doing a decent job, but missing that genius that we saw and Celtic saw for a few years.
Ideally, what we want is a manager with something to prove.

He may not have won La Liga or the Premier League but to say he's done **** all as a manager is ludicrous.
Winning the Greek league with Olynpiakos is like winning the Scottish premier league with Celtic. You could literally hand the entire season over to your assistant manager and you'd still romp the league. He's done nowt. Certainly nowhere near enough to justify the hype.

I've not seen any 'hype', only some people suggesting he's done some things well. Like I say, winning a league and setting a European record winning streak in the process is hardly doing **** all now, is it?

I wouldn't say he's done **** all as a manager, but I do agree with you to a large extent. You would think he had performed a miracle at Hull. They did get relegated, didn't they? And weren't they out of the relegation zone with 2 games upcoming at home to Sunderland and away to a struggling Palace; 2 games which they completed capitulated in?
