He'll leave when a suitable offer arises, its not a given that one will.

Regardless, its time he left, its best for both parties.

Think we saw the best of him in 15/16. And the best of him was the best we've ever had, at least in the 30 years I've supported the club. Legend. An actual proper legend. Not the wasyl 'because he looks like a nice bloke' type of legend, but the 'best player we've ever had' type of legend.

Ability wise he's the best player I've seen play for us in my time following us since the early 90s. This year he has mostly been a bit shit though, and there has been a noticeable change in his attitude. Let's hope we get a fair offer from someone... still wouldn't want to let him go for peanuts.

I'm very sad he's leaving, but have been expecting it since May last year and am glad he's come out with it so transparently, which shows a lot of respect for the fans. It also means that we can plan - but I'm sure the owners knew this was on the cards so will hopefully have been getting those plans in motion.

I really hope he goes to Monaco. Away from the PL and I'd happily cheer him on in the CL.

I think it reduces his value and puts other players off coming. I'd have preferred that he kept his mouth shut until we accepted an offer.

That's a shame though not a surprise. For me he is the most naturally gifted player in the premiership. It hasn't quite worked for him this season but I think he would be truly wonderful in a top side. He is a game changer, a match winner and a magician with a football. He also has a fantastic temperament and will live long in my memory. I will be thoroughly gutted if we dont get £35 million+ for him.

I'm gutted by the news.

Not surprised by it, but gutted.

The best player I've ever seen in a City shirt.

Not his best this season, but still capable of magic and I still get excited whenever the ball's heading towards him.

Just please, please Riyad, do us one last favour and go play in another league? It breaks my heart enough to see Kante in a Chelsea shirt, I don't want to see you in a Spurs/Chelsea/Arsenal shirt.
