For the 20-25 minutes I saw at the end of the game we were woeful.
All the traits that are present in the full national team were there alive and shining brightly in the U21's.
No creativity, no holding the ball up effectively, panic defending, hoof-ball out of defence presenting the other team back with possession. Poor decision making in critical moments and areas of the pitch.
No calmness, no game plan, just grit - and that doesn't win you any tournament.
Quite what we are teaching this group of players is a mystery, and from what I can see will only perpetuate our ongoing failure.

I would point out that they're being coached by Aidy Boothroyd. However, I watched him running sessions last year as the U19 coach at St George's Park and he was surprisingly good. He had players like Loftus-Cheek there and ran some really good drills. He was very enthusiastic and good at getting his point across and educating them. No long ball stuff, but lots of interesting tactical advice. It was good to watch, to be honest.

Is Instagram just something on facebook or does it exist elsewhere? I thought it was just a cat ears filter or some shit? No wonder everyone's passwords are so shit when we've got so much to sign in to. As for gyms....I like to be different, I'm not following the fashion of doing that.
