Speculation Motown's hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded Summer 2017 rumours thread

Whether or not we're happy for Simpson to start (I am), we need another right back in case he can't play 40+ games next season.

Macquire should be starting, preferably alongside Huth as I'm sure he can learn lots from him. Wesley should be cover from now on, if nothing else, he needs a rest.

Chilwell is as good as Fuchs at this point. If we won't make him the first choice, we deserve to see him leave and make a great success of his career elsewhere.

We are lacking a creative edge in the middle, and wide assuming Mahrez gets his dream move.

Up front we can't rely on Vardy all season long, but can we hope that Slimani and Musa (if played where he should be) have adjusted to the EPL?

So, I'd make the priorities an AM and a RB. If upgrades are available in other positions, great, but we spend money there at the expense of these priorities we'll regret it

I think we could get another year out of Huth. Would still like an improvement signed though. No problem with Simpson keeping his place. Left back we definitely need someone as Chilwell isn't ready/good enough and Fuchs should head to the U.S. soon as he can.

Deluded.

Anyone would think we won the prem last year. Not finished almost 50 points behind Chelsea.
Not one person has said, suggested, or given the impression that they think that. Perhaps the delusion is in thinking that they did?

2016 68 scored 36 allowed.
2017 48 scored 63 allowed
For **** sake, grow up.

Its laughable that you think we conceded more goals because we employed a very defensively astute right back who the season before had performed incredibly.

You also hate Mahrez, so you can't have it both ways. Who the ****ity do you think Leicester City should employ at right back who would negate the ineptness of the Persian prince?

His side of the pitch was targeted continuously due to the fact we had Mahrez in front of him and a completely out of sorts Drinkwater on that side of central midfield.

To blame Simpson is ****ing absurd, but you already know that.

You can't see that on tv, though. When you're at the game live, you can see how the whole pitch is set up and how exposed Simpson is at times, but on tv (or streams), you can only see the part where the play gets near to him. FIF obviously has a view formed on this basis.

I'm not saying that those watching on tv can't see a hell of a lot, but you can't really see what happens off the ball, as that's not what the cameras are following.

For what it is worth, I don't think Iheanacho would be a good signing.

I see Iheanacho as more competition to Vardy, he's certainly not a no. 10

I get the feeling we will be looking to change system, perhaps 3-5-2 or 4-3-3.

I can't see Shakespeare playing a 'No.10' at all.

I see Shakespeare walking onto the training ground on day one of pre-season, with a ball under each arm, and more of a hint of Mike Bassett about him, as he says, 'right lads, no ****ing about, we're gonna play 4-4-fecking-2'.

Kasper
Maguire - Huth/Morgan - Other
Albrighton - Ndidi - Sigurdsson - Drinkwater - Chilwell
Vardy - Iheanacho

I would be very happy if we can have something like the above.

You've dropped the three players that I agree with Fuchs, Simpson and Morgan, get ready to receive shit from Pop, CF and friends .....oh no.

And that's solely the fault of the full backs? It's almost impossible to understand how your 'brain' works.

You've stopped your brain functioning. I've never said it's due to the Full backs. In case you still don't understand I've repeatedly said we need 2 CBs an RB and Chilwell to replace Fuchs along with other changes. The whole defence except, at times Kasper and Huth and the original poor work rate of the midfield made us defensively shit. I'd replace most of the defence. Just because you have a jobbie for Simpson and Fuchs you seem to want to blame no-one at all for our disastrous season. The only person I've seen you blame other than Ranieri is Danny Drinkwater.

Not one person has said, suggested, or given the impression that they think that. Perhaps the delusion is in thinking that they did?

Lots of people are suggesting that our defenders are worth starting again next year. Then they'll be crying and whinging like they did throughout this season.

And Lako, I don't hate Mahrez, great player who helped us win a title but an ineffectual player last season. You should read carefully what I say and not put words in my mouth that others will pounce on. Perhaps you confused me with CF or even yourself who spouts far more hate for players.

For the Simpson lovers, I haven't even said we should get rid, we have only 1 RB in the squad. We should be upgrading so that Simpson can be our back-up, As I've said many times he's a solid, average -ish Prem RB. We want to be a top 8 team though not a 12 - 15 prem team.

For fuchs lovers, I think the guy is great off the field, I think he did a lot to build the togetherness in the squad that helped us to the title, but he can't defend anymore and is getting more desperate on the defensive side as he is beaten more and more often. Defensively he was possibly our worst player last season. He still is a danger going forward with his crosses and his Long Throw was our most dangerous play at times last season. We need a new LB and that should be Chilwell before we lose him. Fuchs could play midfield in front of him, IMO, for a season but we don't really need him there if albrighton is available. I don't think Shakey believes he can otherwise he would've done it last season instead of playing Chilwell in midfield.

I also love the way no-one is putting Okazaki in their line-ups for next season even though the few of us suggesting he wasn't good enough last year were lambasted and told how he was the glue that won us the title.

Depressing, isn't it?

I'm not quite sure why you have referred to me twice. I think you might have a bit of a problem with me.

But anyway...I love how you think that Simpson isn't good enough and should be replaced but then suggest Chilwell should be a regular starter. Did you actually watch any games last season? Chilwell is defensively inept.

The fact that you think Drinkwater should be in the England team demonstrates that your inane ramblings can't be taken seriously.

The team that starts at Arsenal. Nailed on:

Kasper
Simpson
Huth
Morgan
Fuchs

Albrighton
Drinkwater
Ndidi
Gray

Slimani
Vardy

Assuming Kasper and Slimani don't leave.

Yep, that's how I see it too.

I said this at the end of last season, when people were suggesting other formations and line-ups. Plan A is Plan A.

And Plan B is to make Plan A work if it doesn't.

Lets just wait and see what happens in the transfer market before talking about formations it was good see Gray do well last night

Schmeikel
Simpson Huth/Morgan McGuire Chilwell
Mahrez Ndidi Drinkwater Albrighton
Gray Vardy

Capable replacements given decent management, rotations, plans B and C
Amarte Mende (?) Fuchs Okasaki Kapuska (?)

I would like to see us sign an infuential, hard working, proven midfielder, to rotate within the existing group, or two if Mahrez leaves.
Any more signings would make integration difficult, like last season.
Plan long term (hopefully without having to panick in January) by introducing promising existing new young players while seeking out a top quality central defender and striker to introduce at the end of the season.
To be a premier league manager!

Maybe , because Shakey has no idea how to play against "big" teams (Lako 2017).
