Elneny is a quality centre mid who was much sought after when he moved to Arsenal.
Arsenal's general lack of defence, Coquelin's subsequent form, Xhaka's price tag and the (correct) pressure to give Maitland-Niles a chance in holding midfield after the u20 world cup win have pushed him back in the pecking order.
Doesn't mean he's not an upgrade on Amartey or King if we play 4-2-3-1 this year (as seems likely) or 5-2-3(which seems like our second choice).
I wouldn't be surprised if we went back in for him.
For me though we should be all in on Sigurdsson and Iheanacho. Get Mahrez and Slimani off to Roma and Newcastle......there, i said it.

There was a report a few weeks ago that said he wanted to sign for us because he'd been told he'd be playing behind the striker, which is his preferred position.
