Danny Drinkwater Departs For Chelsea
Leicester City Football Club has agreed a deal for the transfer of midfielder Danny Drinkwater to Chelsea for a Club-record fee.
- Danny Drinkwater signs for Chelsea for LCFC record fee
- The midfielder played a total of 217 times for Leicester City since signing from Manchester United in 2012
- He lifted the Premier League and Championship trophies as a Leicester City player

The popular 27-year-old joined the Foxes from Manchester United in January 2012 and went on to make 217 appearances for the Club in a period that saw him play key roles both Championship and Premier League-winning campaigns.

Leicester City wishes to express its gratitude to Danny for his contribution to the team’s achievements over the past five years, as he leaves with the best wishes of everyone at the Football Club.

Let's hope this is a bad news / good news situation and Silva's signing will be announced imminently

Thanks for the memories Danny.

I'm a bit meh about this one.

He blew warm and cold as a player, never really got hot. He's a legend by default for his part in the league winning side, but he's not fit to lace the likes of Muzzy Izzet's boots in my eyes.

On a personal level I too never warmed to him, especially after that ridiculous cupping of the ear celebration he did towards his own fans even though he'd barely ever got any stick for being shit for months on end. But his effort levels were never in doubt and as a Leicester fan I don't ask for a lot more than that.

Fair play to him for having the ambition to try and take his career to the next level, and no doubt he'll now default into the England squad courtesy of playing for a 'big club', but I can't help but suspect he's not really good enough for Chelsea and will spend most of his time on the bench.

Nicely put Moose.

Unfortunately he has always come across as a bit of a dick head.

Due to his fake injury I am glad to see the back of him.

Jamie Vardy once said Drinks could have an argument with himself. He has a reputation for being a bit of a diva which kinda points to this.

He was a good player for us in the title winning season - but as BN has said many times, he only looks good when the whole team looks good. He never drags a performance out of anyone.

Now that's a deal

The rumoured £35m fee is a record fee for us, and is being reports as such.

That is a fantastic deal for the club.

If Silva has signed, we've done very well here.

Wonder if he will be injured on 8th September? Would be an interesting debut for him. Would he walk into the wrong changing room by accident.

Looks like it's Hi Ho Silva away though as we wouldn't put enough cash up. Could happen in January though.

Just remember Jermaine Beckford, this transfer window always reminds me we signed him when we should have kept "money in pocket"
