Sigh. Can't wait to get Liverpool out the way and get this horrible run of fixtures done.

That said, I've still not been convinced by Slimani. He just slows us down and doesn't work with Vardy and he can't do much besides head the ball. He should very much be 4th choice behind Vardy, Iheanacho and Okazaki.

And Matty James really isn't the answer. Iborra needs to get fit asap.

We didn't play too badly but it's frustrating that we just can't seem to get points on the board. Really need to get a result at Huddersfield to give us a kick start.

We don't know. That's why we shouldn't perhaps jump to conclusions.
Sadly, I think it's more or less obvious that Shakey is a great guy but doesn't have the flair and imagination to operate at this level; its also obvious that the side was nose-diving under Ranieri who had lost the players and Shakespeare did well to turn things round - in the short term; its also obvious that the club has been badly served in its transfer dealings for some time now......culminating in the Silva episode which is almost too painful to think about from a club and player standpoint.

If Silva, Iborra and Dragovic are good then we will be fine. Add to that a fit again Huth and a rampaging Okazaki.

Also, I thought Ndidi was excellent today.

Game of fine margins.
Slim could have done better
Morata was offside
Kasper should have saved Kante's shot
But hey, they're all a bunch of cu##s not fit to wear the shirt and the manager shouldn't be anywhere near the first team.

Only thing I can say from that game is our supposed online supporters are getting worse.
It's like "fix bayonets" before, during and after a game.
Someone once said fickle boneheads. He wasn't wrong!

He was better than in previous games but hampered by a severely limited performance from James. We were much better when King came on and added an extra dimension in the middle. I thought Gray looked okay when he came on but he still frustrates.

We will be fine. A result against Huddersfield will steady the ship. We are just suffering from our recruitment errors both last year and this.

So we've now lost three games; the same number as we lost in the whole of the Premier League winning season. Are we in a relegation battle yet?

pattern set for the season...lose to everyone decent, narrow wins against shite & finish 12th to 14th. We're Leicester again. I've learned to live with it over the past 40 odd years...it's the way we've reverted to type pretty much instantly after the miracle that gets on my tits. Wasted opportunities at every level from every angle, every mistake that could be made has been.

If we were, we'd be in the Championship.

One big plus though is I'm glad we finally put Vardy back and penalties and stopped with Mahrez pathetic attempts where you never feel confident he'll score.

I'm sure halfway through the season someone is going to rip his mask off and the whole stadium will chorus *gasp* Jinkies! Nigel Pearson!

Performances are exactly as they were. Wail until 2-0 down to actually start playing.

Slimani hopeless
James so far off the pace in the first half it was almost hilarious
Quite the most ridculous half time substitution I've seen in a long time. Andy King, yes that's definitely the solution, Craig
45 minutes of complete turd from Gray
Mahrez started ok, but got worse and worse and worse
£25 million Nacho gets 12 minutes to run around with no one passing to him

We are predictable and pathetic

Last season, Chelsea came to us playing pretty much exactly the same way. We changed our formation and approach in order to counteract it. It failed miserably because we forgot to mark their left wing back and he ripped us apart all game.

However, at least we had a plan. An idea of how to play against them. Today, we sent our side out against them with no consideration whatsoever for how they were going to play. His two half time substitutions can only have been in recognition of how much he'd messed up. It was hardly a surprise was it? However, the changes he made only partially made sense and ultimately, on our third change, we lost our shape completely.

In my 'opinion', you can play two ways against this Chelsea side. You can choose to match them up in terms of formation and see how it plays out or you can set up to make them adjust or struggle to play their preferred way. For example, by playing three attackers and having two of them sitting on the flanks forcing their wing backs to play full back. Of course, we did neither.

So the two Chelsea wing backs had masses of space all afternoon and were easy out balls. They outnumbered us in midfield apart from for 20 mins in the second half and strolled through the afternoon.

The score was 1-2 but they could and should have picked us off for at least a couple more. We created little and it was sad to see just how wide a gulf between the sides there was.

There are several players of genuine quality in our squad. Really top players that can mix it with anyone. However, after every game like this, I can almost see another little bit of air disappearing out of their tyres. Soon, they'll just be bang average or demanding moves.

It's such a shame and such a waste. I mean, how many times does someone need to see Slimani and Vardy together before they know that it doesn't work? How many times do you need to see a two man midfield including James to realise it isn't strong enough against any half decent opposition? Would it kill you to have switched an ineffective Gray with Mahrez in the second half to give them both a chance to play on their natural side and maybe give the opposition something to think about?

All this and more from Shakespeare with another boring performance from a boring team playing boring football.

And when are we ever going to see a sodding professional referee who actually knows the feckin' laws of the game - that drop ball shenanigans was an embarrassment
