How is this even open for debate or interpretation, there must be a black and white answer to this.

This crossed my mind, too. It's a bit of a distance from the indoor pitch to the training ground offices and they seemed to be moving between the two. I understand they might want to show a new player that facility, but why keep them there. If, as has been mentioned, the player was up there, whilst the office equipment was down at the main base, that creates an unnecessary delay. There is an indoor gym in the office section at the training ground, so why not take the player there, for photos etc and he's right next to whatever we need to send the documents through.

If that's the case (and I realise that it might not be, but it certainly looked like it could be), then it's ridiculously daft to take that chance with the deadline approaching.
 
Why don't we just announce that Andy King has broken his jaw and needs to wear one of those face masks for a few months.

And then why don't we just pick Andy King and get Silva to run out in his shirt?

Problem solved. I learnt this from watching wrestling in the 1980s.
 
If you read around, players training with other clubs is not uncommon (e.g. our own Matty James went to the US in the off-season with his brother & Wigan. and was training with them)

I think Silva not training with us is the clubs decision and nothing at all to do with FIFA. I suggested as much upthread and Jeff expanded upon it later. I think it's in part to not be seen to validate the deal and also make FIFA look the villains (which they can do adequately on their own anyway) by making it seem they (FIFA) are responsible for denying the caught-in-the-middle Silva his future.

What needs examining is who takes the responsibility and what (if anything) are the owners intending to do about it.

I appreciate that the club is trying to offload the blame and is considering an appeal and this inhibits taking action for the moment- best of luck with that! But if and when that strategy runs out of legs, some sort of internal enquiry seems unavoidable.

Just because something doesn't happen as expected or anticipated it doesn't naturally follow that heads need to roll.

Sometimes it is just as simple as an error which was bought about be an unusual set of circumstances.

Lesson learnt, move on.
 
To save me rereading 150+ posts, is the villain here the Sporting owner who kept gazumping the price up as we got near to 11pm, do we had to reagree and change the documents?
 
How can we loan him? imo he is our player not theirs ie in our prem squad of 25, not in their CL squad. He will end up like the majority of our signings ie not available because of fitness/lack of match time.
