More or less being set up to lose in the majority of the tough games isn't how it's supposed to work. Of course a bottom of the table side (which is what we are these days -if we choose to be candid)is going to lose more than we win, but knowing you are going to lose isn't the right way.

We won the title 16 months ago. We can't expect to emulate that or even be top 6 or top 8, but this season is really poor stuff.

I don't think this is fantasy thinking. The actual fantasy is around situations like Mahrez. It's irrelevant that he is very talented and once played magnificently for us. The guy is now more or less a passenger. He doesn't want to play for us and couldn't have made that clearer.

Good post. Liverpool were there for the taking last weekend, they were so bad that we nearly muddled to a point playing completely the wrong system.

Henderson looked dreadful and sluggish but we had no one near him in the middle of the pitch.

Their wingbacks left acres of space behind them but only Vardy could make runs in behind with no support through the middle.

They basically have a team of midfielders but we started with an out of form Ndidi and the completely inadequate Andy King in the middle. The kept fullbacks get sucked infield, losing shape and leaving loads of space down the outside.

If we are going to accept that plenty of teams are bigger and better than us, then Shakespeare needs to make concessions with his tactics and adapt. He has shown no willingness to do this so far but for 10 or 20 minutes here and there. I'm not saying he should go or he's doomed to failure, I'm just not sure why we've plumped for someone who doesn't know how to do the job yet when the stakes are so high (relatively speaking of course).

Kasper

Simpson Maguire Morgan Chillwell
Albrighton Ilborra Ndidi Gray
Slimani Vardy
Your autocorrect won't let go if the ''l''even if you try to, which it seems you have.

It's all down to opinions but one thing I'm certain of is that Shakespeare was the obvious and easy option. But there didn't seem to be a lot of choices. I think that most people believe that he is out of his depth and is a good coach but not a PL manager. As fans we just have to live with it - and hope that this will be just a wasted season rather than a disaster. Of course, it's possible that he might grow into the job but at the moment things seem to be a mirror of the first three quarters of the 2014/15 season where we kept losing but took comfort in not getting hammered.

Unfortunately this time round we don't have a Cambiasso to turn things round for us.

Who are these "most of the fans" who took the poll?
This season is certainly not like last season. Against the big boys we rolled over and let them tickle our bellies. 4-0 is a thumping.
This season has seen the fine margins that we had go for us a couple of seasons ago, go against us this time around.
(Arsenal - handball. Chelsea -offside goal given. Liverpool - missed penalty)
Let's see how the next 6 games go shall we.

Evidence? It’s mostly conjecture. The “best player at Arsenal” comment was a personal highlight.
Yes evidence, the like of which BN provided:

Mahrez has still had the same number of touches of the ball as Vardy and Albrighton combined this season. He's made more passes than Vardy and Albrighton combined, and has most assists this season.

This is much more evidential than the pissing and moaning about Mahrez week in week out without any substance, statistical basis or fact isn't it? If you really want to discuss conjecture, hearsay and bollocks perhaps we could recount the many posters who seem to know exactly how Shakespeare got the job, exactly what his relationship with every player is, exactly what goes on in training and in team talks both post match and at half times. That's a shitfest of complete Charlie Sheen style madness.

Still, this thread is full of absolute made up bollocks so I guess such evidence was bound to be lost in the jungle of ****wittery.

When the moon hits you're eye
Like a big pizza pie
That's Iborra

Ok, wrong nationality but wtf
If you wanna go Spanish, try "Una Paloma Blanca" and let's see what you come up with. Or "Yes Sir, I can Boogie"

Yes Sir, that's Iborra!
He just needs to start a game!!

Oh dear.... I'll get my coat

I think you need to take a step back and perhaps try to be a bit more open to the fact that people have different views of the player.

You seem to be becoming a bit militant and disrespectful just because people, myself included, don't share the same view of the player.

The statistical analysis that BN has provided on your behalf Is all well and good, but maybe you could quash our ****wittery with some facts that make us wrong?

I am using my own eyes to form my own opinion, you can form yours based on website stats if you wish and that's fine.

I'm not even slagging the player off really, I just don't enjoy watching him completely misused and totally dragged down to our shitfest standards.

And once again for the 1000th time is that age old....'you're having a go at my opinion blah blah blah' nonsense. I wasn't criticising your right to an opinion, I was questioning a post which claimed that the evidence provided was hearsay. It wasn't, it was fact - the very facts you have asked for (in fact!). Where you've extrapolated all that other rubbish from is anyone's guess.

The '****wittery' I referenced was the complete breakdown of common sense that has happened in this thread. That's why I prefaced it with the words 'this thread....'

I haven't questioned people's rights to an opinion but that doesn't mean that opinions shouldn't be questioned. You've been more than guilty of that in your time.
