Both are right. Maybe. Depends on your definition of right. But let's not bring semantics into it, though it does have a useful input. There are no philosophical questions only linguistic ones. Or perhaps not.

People tend not to like ambiguity (except in jokes) and uncertainty. Binary certainty and right or wrong bring stability, certainty and a sense of security... and occasionally injustice.

I watched Man City v Stoke on Saturday. Man City gave a masterclass in possession football, always had options. It seemed like they had 7 man midfield. Stoke weren't given a chance to be poor. Yet, somehow, the score was 3-2 at one point and Stoke were "back in the game". The score said so but there was another perspective.

In our winning season, some stats might have said we were the inferior team. However, games are decided by goals not stats. I think were relegated, if not bottom, on possession stats.

Except, I didn't say and have never said that you shouldn't have your opinion. Just because I think your opinion is tripe or that it is based on spurious, childish nonsense, doesn't mean I think you shouldn't have it or that I, in some way, 'object' to you having it.

It also doesn't mean that it can't or shouldn't be questioned though. That's the nature of things isn't it? Now stop being so overly sensitive and get back to panicking about a football season with only 7 games (3 of which were against the current top 5, 1 against a team who will probably finish there) gone.

Now if you don't mind, I'm going to get back to looking forward to the car crash of tonight's match thread.
I don't have any objection whatsoever to you challenging an opinion but it is the lowest possible common denominator with you and the way you do it. Childish name calling and belittling. Typical keyboard warrior. You wouldn't say it to anyone's face I'd bet. I have the measure of the kind of person you are. Absolutely no trousers.

When was the last time we played in October 16th? It's my birthday. Three points for the super foxes would be a nice present I'm sure you'll all agree.

Like being in the bottom three with the worst possession and passing ability in the league?

Other teams have played these infallible top 6 clubs that we are piss scared of and they've beaten them.

My views are based on what I see with my own eyes.

I've been backing Shakespeare, but lose here and I think he could be a gonna.

But I don't think we will lose - I'm expecting to see an energetic performance, potentially a few changes and different shape.
He'll know he's under pressure now, particularly after the weekend's results - and so will the players.

Of course that could just be blind optimism though.

If there’s one thing I’ve learned from following overly-sensitive American right-wingers, it’s that disagreement is censorship.
This just came in my Facebook feed, clearly other people have been having this discussion too - and I fully endorse the message of this one

Yes, all of this.

Well. That’s a thing.

2011. We lost 2-0 at Birmingham.

Gonna what?

I want to see:

Schmeichel

Morgan, Maguire, Fuchs
Albrighton, Ndidi, Iborra, Chilwell
Mahrez, Okazaki
Vardy

Mahrez has a free role to move out to either wing, Shinji stays more central but is there to help the midfield and link to attack.

BBC stats show both teams averaging under 40% possession, so the ref is going to be in the centre circle with the ball to himself for at least 20 minutes tonight!

Which will make this our most embarrassing concession of possession yet.

Which will then be beaten by Leeds next week.

Do you not see any irony in that post at all? Seriously?

You know as much about me as you claim to about the inner workings of the club's dressing room; the square root of **** all. Still, it doesn't stop you from posting endless nonsense, hearsay and tosh on here so I suppose it's easy to see why you 'think' in such a way. Attempting to map out my character based on a few snippets from an internet forum and your hurt feelings not only makes you look a little silly but also clarifies why jumping wildly from one assertion to the next comes naturally to you. All the other 'say it to my face' playground nonsense I shall ignore for now as it's just absurd and rather pathetic.

If you don't like your opinions being questioned, precious, then I suggest you use the ignore function.

We've each got a good record away from home in this fixture because we're both at our best on the counter attack.

Pulis knows exactly how to play against us tonight. They'll play deep and counter attack us and rely upon set pieces.

The interesting thing will be what Shakespeare does. If everybody knows what WBA will do, and that it tends to work for them against us in this fixture, surely the onus is on us to do something unexpected or something that will make their game plan less effective?

Shakespeare must also surely realise that the good will and support he's received from most fans is now hanging by a thread. He has to step up tonight and do something that suggests he's capable of doing the job. Tonight is his 26th game in charge and he should have stamped his authority/personality on us long before now.

Can he do something unexpected? Can he control his players? Or more significantly, will our more important players decide that it's in their interest to step up to get a result for him?

So far, I think he's made serious errors in five of our seven league games (the Brighton and Man Utd games were fine by me). If tonight shows no sign of improvement, it's time for the owners to act.

I think it'll be a very big game for Shakespeare in terms of those sitting on a fence at the moment. Lose, and a lot of those will jump over to the 'replace him' side. Win, and some will be placated enough to give him another few games.

I'd like to see a more attacking line up with Vardy, Iheanacho and Okazaki all starting. There's no easy solution for midfield at the moment but I'd like to see something different in there. Okazaki perhaps in a middle 3 with Ndidi and Iborra or King? What I think we will see however is 4-4-2 with King and Ndidi in the middle.

No, not like that. I wasn't referring to that at all or to your opinions as a matter of fact which are usually sound. I was referring to the numerous made up conspiracy theory type posts which claim to know why this may be the case.

We were horse shit against Bournemouth and if that continues for a few games over the next couple of months or so then we will have to reassess the management structure and we will probably be justified in thinking that we could slip into trouble. I'm just pointing out that 7 games in after a pretty tough run (however you spin it, it was a tough run) with a midfield woefully lacking in quality, the departure of DD and the failure to bring Silva, is not enough time for games such as this to be tagged 'must win' or any other such thing. It may well be job defining for the manager but not really season defining for our league status as a club.

Like it Pop, very well put.

Not only do we have to win tonight, but we have to put in a performance otherwise our managers existence at City will be in the balance.

Sad, but true.

Interestingly, all of them s suggests that perhaps sacking Ranieri wasn’t the best long term solution as perhaps attracting very good managers to our club is now a poison chalice, with suitors asking themselves ‘even if we win the league at Leicester I could still lose my job the following season’.

And therein lies the rub. It's fine to be looking at the records of other managers we could have offered the job to or that we could approach now but nobody knows whether they would have said yes or will say yes and approaching them before we remove Shakespeare is not only immoral but also does our tattered reputation no favours. I did suggest that we should have gone for Marco Silva at the end of last season but a few posters didn't think that was a good idea for lots of reasonable and understandable reasons. This shows how incredibly difficult it is.

Tonight is a big one for Shakespeare and if we lose it will add pressure. The nature of the performance will be just as important for many fans as the result I feel. I will reserve any judgement until after the game.

If we hadn’t, we’d be watching a floundering mid to lower Championship team, with Shakespeare at the helm. Literally like the Rob Kelly days. I’m not sure that’s such a great long term solution either.

Whereas what we’re watching is a mid table Championship team with Shakespeare in charge floundering in the Premier League practicing for your scenario next season.
