Something to prove in pl

A talented player but one that had attitude problems in his younger days. I presume he's grown up and put that behind him.

Good replacement for Riyad. Could see that happening.

It wouldn't be my first thought, unless you're talking of other than position. I'd like to see them in the same lineup.

I remember watching BA when he replaced Nasri at OM and thinking BA was the more talented playmaker. He had great confidence as a youngster. I think he gets himself involved more than Mahrez does. I'd like to see him central and Mahrez wide.

To be fair, looking at the talent at PSG (and how to fit them all in one team!), HBA would need to be at peak form and work rate every game to get a starting place. There's stiff competition in that squad.... and it's going a bit pear shaped at the moment - but that's another story.

He's maybe a confidence player and it reads like Puel can get the best out of him (from the Daily Mail link)...

His success last season came mostly from the fact that Claude Puel, the ex-Nice manager who is now at Southampton, let him do what he wanted with a lot of freedom and showed him a lot of love and trust to exploit his talent.

Hmmm, yes, it does seem to mean the opposite of what I intended! I'm not a betting man so don't understand the numbers in odds. Let's just say I think it less likely ;)

In that case you picked the right term to use.

The phrase you are after is 'the odds have lengthened'. ;)

From Auntie:

Leicester boss Claude Puel says he could sign Paris St-Germain and France midfielder Hatem ben Arfa in January. The 30-year-old played under Puel at Nice in 2015-16. (ESPN, via RMC Radio)
