Maybe it's just the camera angle and the footage taken, but he looks alone and forgotten. It's all about Vardy and Mahrez. Did anyone go to Gray? Or did he join in and we simply didn't see it?

Some did go over to Gray straightaway and the others congratulated him in the second phase of the celebration when he joined up with Vardy and Mahrez.

I've always struggled to take "fat" managers seriously, particularly in the NFL. It's a prejudice, one I'm aware of.

Something about expecting discipline but not showing it.

A ****ing terrible, regressive view, I know...but one I'm sure many pro's have.

And I hold my hands up. I'd consider it a negative, especially for someone under 40.

Just wanted to add how impressed i was with Mahrez' application to his new role. Although he had less defensive responsibilities he was still willing to close down, and he was moving a lot off the ball to find space.

I think this role will work well for him and us.

I've not particularly found Mahrez in a central role to be that effective, in the past, other than the odd game where he switched there late on in a game (Norwich at home 2 seasons ago springs to mind). Our group were discussing whether the inclusion of Gray out wide, who is obviously an attacking threat himself, helped to allow Mahrez a bit more space centrally, too. I'm not sure whether it was just Everton's poor shape, although they did have two holding midfielders, or if that was due to our setup.

I remain to be convinced. I'm afraid to say it (as it's been said of him throughout his career) but I think he's too much of a lightweight and doesn't put himself about enough. I feel he'd need to go in search of the ball more. The ball at his feet, out wide and cutting in, he's brilliant but I don't see his type of magic working as a no. 10

I want to be wrong though.
