SSL interview on signing for Solihull Moors. Most interesting bit:

“There were times I wasn’t as professional as I should have been,” he adds. “I took being a footballer for granted. When I left Leicester [in 2014] I thought I would get a club quite easily. I wasn’t that old, had a heap of experience. I went to Ipswich on loan but I struggled to get a club that season. That was when it started to really hit home that I had started to mess around during the three years at Leicester when I had a great opportunity.

“If I had known they were going to win the Premier League I probably wouldn’t have messed around as much as I did!”

Interesting fallacy to think that proximity in time equals proximity to glory. The win didn't randomly occur in his absence as a big cosmic joke, it happened precisely because we managed (at least temporarily) to weed out mindsets like Sean's

Surely there is another English midfielder who has actually played for their club this season.

He doesn't deserve a call up, nowhere near.
 
A bit of payback? He got shit on by the previous management by not going to the Euros. However he could well be cutting his nose off to spite his face.
 
Didn’t Southgate make a big deal about how if you’re not playing for your club you won’t be picked for England? And then he picks Drinkwater?
 
Drinkwater was sensational for us in the title winning season. That seems a long time ago now. I presume playing for a 'big' team gets you an automatic call up?
