On a point of order, we are Leicester City, not Leicester.
I'd normally not care but the attempt by Man City to monopolise all references to 'City' in the game really cheeses me off.

Can't wait! Looking forward to this a lot, although I do worry about how good Man City look at the minute... Not to mention my incredibly poor record when I come to watch us at the KP...
Still, we've done alright against them the last couple of seasons!
Be interesting to see how Puel sets up for this one. Their defence is certaintly the weakest part of the their team, so do we keep on the attack to try and take advantage of that with Gray, Mahrez, Vardy etc or do we try our best to defend more solidly and hope to catch them on the break?

I quite agree!!
I know enough Man City fans to know that they think City only refers to them, so I try not to give them the satisfaction of ever saying City but always Man City when talking to them.

I regard Manchester City as the best team of the modern era.(1) The bookmakers will no doubt make Manchester City favourites and I don't blame them. So what are our positives.
Every sportsman wants to test themselves against the best. The Leicester City players came to the club in order to play the likes of Man City players The Man City players did not join them in order to play against Leicester. There is glory in being "The Man Who Shot Liberty Valence" (2).
Manchester City have got great players; this brings out the worst in modern fans. In the 1950s English fans appreciated great players. Puskas had destroyed the English defence in 1953 and when he came to play at Wolves a couple of years later he was applauded. (3) I remember Liverpool fans applauding Peter Shilton; they respected true greatness. Sadly about fifteen years ago Ronaldhino was jeered at Leicester for scoring a great goal against England.
I specifically say English fans because this was not true in Scotland. Scottish fans always booed Billy Wright. As Tommy Docherty said "They boo him because they wish we had a defender as good."
(1) I regard the modern era as beginning with beautiful football pitches. You cannot compare Ferguson's Man U playing on grass with the Busby Babes playing in mud.
(2) The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance was a western starring John Wayne, James Stewart and Lee Marvin. It is not usually regarded as a chick flick.
(3) The respect and affection for Puskas was such that when Wolves opened the Billy Wright stand Ferenc Puskas was his guest of honour, When Wright and Puskas stood together somebody shouted "That's the nearest you ever got to him Billy."

I'm sure there were also examples of opposition players being booed in the "olden days", too.

I think that they're shite and there for the taking. Genuinely. They are nothing more than 'Emperor's New Clothes'. None of their defenders are any good and they have no central midfield. If we let them have all the possession in our half, they'll beat us but I'd hope and expect that Puel comes up with a tactical plan that exposes their weaknesses and allows our strengths to embarrass them.
Don't forget that we absolutely humiliated pretty much the same side at our place last season. If we treat them with utter disrespect and contempt, I expect us to beat them.

Not sure I've read such complete rubbish for quite some time
Both sets of players joined their respectve clubs to play and compete in the Premier League, against all competitors. And because (certainly in Man City's case) they could earn more money than they could elsewhere
When Iborra was leading his side to win the Europa Cup three years in a row, you thnk he was secretly dreaming of the day when he could play the overblown, overrated Manchester City ?

It won't be anything like the same side we beat last season.
Six of last season's starting eleven have left the club.
Two of them haven't started a league game this season.
That leaves Stones, de Bruyne and Silva.

My memory may have been playing tricks on me there. Same manager, formation and arrogance levels though so the personnel aren't so important.
And we had Zieler in goal and Amartey and King in central midfield and had just lost to Sunderland and been hammered by Porto so we were hardly at our best.

I share BN's positivity and I hope that Puel has seen, and made lots of notes about, last season's excellent game against City. They have largely won because they are playing teams that are attempting a similar brand of football.
We have to hit them in the right way, and hit them hard.
They've only beaten us once in the last five games, and all of those were with the super-money, super-team they apparently have currently.
... Are we their bogey team?

To be fair most of us got Ranieri wrong but I have noticed that this autumn when you have generally avoided adolescent language your posts to have concentrated on weird attacks on other members. Can we please have the grand old Homer back.
Looks like Aguero is out (in hospital after the Argentina game) while Gabriel Jesus went off with a knock in last night's England game vs Brazil.
I fancy our chances slightly better if those two aren't playing as sterling and sane are not as good up top as those two. That's for sure.
Either way we will need Mahrez, Gray, Iborra, Ndidi etc to be on it and hope that Maguire and Vardy who got great minutes against Germany and Brazil aren't too knackered.
Should be a great game.
