It was totally mass hysteria.

It wasn't a an utterly dreadful performance. We played some great football in that first half which was continued last night.

The substitutions were understandable, positive and effectual.

Mahrez was ineffective in the second half, gave the ball away far too easily and was replaced.

Once Chilwell came on we started to cause WHU problems again.

Putting Slimani on was also a good ploy.

We got a point against a side fighting for their passionate crowd and for a new manager.

It was a great result. Anyone who thinks they were just going to roll over and die is deluded.
No1. I'm pretty sure you don't know what the word 'hysteria' means.

No.2. Chilwell made little to no impact at all. Slimani's first impact was to commit a foul in a dangerous area and then he didn't have time to touch the ball again. It wasn't a 'ploy' it was simply to add height as we weren't able to stop them marauding forward, perhaps because we had a completely isolated striker with no support and no runners around him.

No3. The substitutions were anything but positive at all. Taking off a number 10 for a left back playing as a winger is not a positive move. Bringing on a striker to defend for 3 minutes or so also isn't positive. I don't even know where to begin with that notion. Positive wouod have been to bring on Okazaki or driven Slimani at 60 minutes or so when it was painfully obvious that we needed two strikers running at them to win the game. They back peddled everytime we attacked them which, of course, we didn't do because Mahrez couldn't pass a ball for shit and Vardy had no one to pass to.

No4. It was anything but a 'great result'. If that's how low out expectations are we may as well pack it all in now.

No5. Nobody expected them to 'roll over and die' but we also didn't expect us to cause such a frail defence absolutely no problems whatsoever for about 65 minutes of the game.

No6. Nothing 'continued' last night at all. He realised what a shitfest Friday was and went back to a system and a team that have had success in the past. If anything, all these 'transitions' were abandoned by Puel for a system that we know works when executed properly. He deserves huge credit for this.

Nobody is saying that they want him out (otherwise than in jest) after so few games. People are perfectly within their rights to criticise such a rubbish performance as that second half against WH just as they are to praise such a great 1st half as we had yesterday. Suggesting that people are 'hysterical' for doing so is ridiculous.

It wasn't a an utterly dreadful performance.

We are talking about the Wham match aren't we? I guess it depends on the context you put on it but personally I feel it was utterly dreadful as EPL games go. Though that said, tbh, I find it difficult to judge performance when the game itself was so poor. Praps you're right though, praps we were ok in a shit match? I dunno. But I cannot, in all seriousness, recall off the top of my head a worse game of football.

Fast forward a week, and our performance (first half especially) was light years removed. It was a joyous occasion (though I have to admit to bellowing obscenities at the tele when they scored)

It was a poor ball from Gray. I was ready to do a merry jig around my lounge, Slimani would have had an easy finish, even if it wasn't on his head.

Poor ol' Slim, he's a cart horse of a player. His lumbering along makes me laugh. It's almost unfair to ask him to run. I reckon it's best he goes somewhere where they can make better use of his talents (and I don't mean the knackers yard) We're just not set up for him and I don't think we will be foreseeabley. Well, unless Puel sees him as a centre-back or something... oh, hang on....

the Gray/Slim one was 50-50 IMO, Gray could have played a better ball but Slim could have checked his run a bit knowing Gray would always have to pull it back due to the defenders

I can’t be the only one who finds it concerning that a £29 million signing is being talked about in a similar way to that we once used to describe Mark de Vries.

to be fair to Slimani we are not set up in a way that suits him, we are set up to suit Vardy, so SLimani is always going to be struggling

Amazing how you see things so differently to me and the fans I talk with.

I'm seeing a team in transition in terms of the style of play. More ball on the ground, more passing, more penetration and less reliance on long balls and counter attacks. It isn't going to happen overnight but it's better than what we saw from the last manager.

I saw no transitions being abandoned, quite the opposite.

Agreed, anyone who thinks we didn't approach the game differently is so wide of the mark it's untrue.

The players and the manager himself even talk about it openly, but what the **** do they know?

Our style of play is a light year away from either the end of CR’s and during CS’s reign.

The interpassing and playing the ball through the centre just didn’t happen previously - we were always looking for the out ball, the channel ball or one over the top.

I would go as far as to say that the first 30 minutes yesterday were probably the best football I have seen in my time watching us.

It was nothing short of a joy to watch and if we can replicate this for whole games along with a little improvement there are very few teams who will live with us.

It was awesome to watch and if this is transition then mr jobby is going to take a trip to panty land when we completely accomplish it.

That’s stretching it!

The finest football we have seen was that delivered under Ranieri

Please do not belittle and bespoil that glorious period by pretending that the football played last night was in any way close to what was produced for large parts of that season, because it just wasn't

Incidentally will we ever win a game again without the media saying how we’ve recaptured our title winning form etc etc?

Or will Riyad ever score a goal again without us being told he’s back to his best?
You’re back to your best you big lug.
