I thought the second half was a really good watch; as soon as Slimani went we looked a different team.
Iheanacho was good throughout and really wanted to be involved tonight. Slimani was appalling and, although his effort was as great as ever, we need to ship him out (more for his sake than ours).

Thought Silva looked really good tonight, particularly in 2nd half.
Slimani was a waste of space.
Two really good finishes from Nacho man, and he had a good game. Just doesn't seem to offer the same threat as Vardy.

Young lads behind me singing "are you jon Moss in disguise"
Lad when leaving who stated confidently that Jordan Amartey was "the worst footballer he'd ever seen".

Nicely taken goals by Iheanacho though. Not sure about VAR. Nice that we got the goal but a bit weird when awarded. All the celebrating had kind of been done.

That first 45 was every bit as poor as the whole game at their gaff. It was awful
Our whole game changed the minute Slimani stepped off the pitch. Iheanacho was released to play his natural game, and finally looked a proper player, and Albrighton was simply outstanding
Silva grew nicely into the game, but still needs a bucketload of game time imo until he's ready for Premier League football
Not a fan of the whole VAR sideshow - five minutes to prove that he was two inches onside ? That's not football is it ?

I think we're seeing our new shape coming into being and I don't think it includes Slimani. I think Puel likes to see movement across the pitch, players swapping position and drifting. (Musa might fit into this BTW) Iheanacho clearly offers that, more over has a good touch but perhaps needs a bit of TLC. Puel offers that (witness his dealings with Mahrez, he was made captain for example)
I like Iborra. He reads the game so well and is always dropping into positions looking for the ball, offering his team mates the easy ball. He'll drop between the centre backs to cover their movement.
Silva too looks a not dissimilar player; reading the game and making it look easy yet perhaps more attack minded.
And a final word for Gray; a couple of his touches tonight where just sublime. The kids got talent.

Ndidi, James, Silva and Iborra are cracking 4 options in midfield. If Silva can play on the half turn like he did today against better teams then we will start to dominate more games possession wise and free Vardy Gray and Mahrez more often.

I don't get the issue with VAR. 1 minute 7 seconds is hardly ages and without it, the goal wouldn't have been awarded. It did it's job perfectly well in that instance.
It should have been used to better effect for the penalty decision however. I have to say, credit to John Moss who used it very sensibly indeed tonight.

job done we huffed and puffed great confidence boost for Nacho pleased for him tonight, I agree Slimani works hard but I feel we are playing a different game to suit him, looking at the Chelsea game James and Ndidi ave put down a real marker we finally have competition for places, bring on the posh

Missed the first half but we bossed it second and played some lovely stuff. Iborra and Silva could be a great partnership for the next few years. Glad we put out a stronger starting line up today whilst still rotating the squad a bit, felt we needed that bit of extra experience and ability from what we had in the original tie to get us over the line. Good game for Nacho. Like I said I'd like to see us make the most out of trying to get far in this competition this year.
The way I read the VAR situation is that it only reverses a decision if it is 'clearly and demonstrably' (I think was the expression) wrong. It's not simply a matter of judgement by the VAR ref. I can see a difference even if that, in application, it means its scope is quite limited.
For Iheanacho's 2nd, it's application is clear and was perfectly demonstrated. With the Iborra 'penalty or not' decision, it's not a clear cut call, it's a matter of judgement and in application VAR's role is not to disagree with the ref's judgment but correct a decision if it is demonstrably wrong.
