IMO time to play our strongest central midfield, Ndidi Ibora Silva. Maybe a back 3 will come in time but for now the regular 4, Iheanacho may be given a start ( hopefully central and up front rather than dropping deep).
We should be too strong for these, hopefully maintaining the clean sheet run in a 2-0 win Iheanacho Vardy

Not sure Silva is quite ready for 90 minutes at Prem pace, but I reckon he'll get a run. James is by no means out of the equation, he's impressing me. For me, only Ndidi is a nailed-on starter in that area - you could perm the other positions dependant on tactics. It is however a nice selection problem for Puel.

I'm torn with Iheanacho; it's clear the talent is there (and I now do prefer him, without doubt, to Slimani) because he does add something to the team. I'm just not sure how to balance it and whether he's mentally there and ready to give his all. I think he needs both game time and confidence, but if he's going to 'pack a sad' and not put in a shift then that'd be to our detriment. It's a balancing act but I would like to see him get some time on the pitch, maybe replacing Vardy for the last 20 to 30 minutes (I don't think it works with both him and Vardy)

I'd continue with Amartey and Dragovic (whatever the situation with Simpson and Morgan) because that's our way forward. (That said, how long is Dragovic around? Wasn't it a season long loan or something??) Fuchs or Chilwell at left back for me, pluses and minuses for either. I'd opt for Gray over Albrighton, and obviously Mahrez. Shinji because, well, he's Shinji.

Based on Silva's performance last night, he has to be one of the first names on the team sheet come Saturday.

I think a midfield 3/5 of Silva Iborra and N'Didi, with Mahrez and Gray/Albrighton out wide.

While we are so thin on the ground in terms of fullbacks, I would go for a back 3 of Maguire Dragovic and Amartey.

Shinji and Vardy to regain their places up top.

Leicester 2-0 Iborra, Mahrez

Do people think Silva might make us less reliant on Shinji to be that link man with Vards?

For me, it's too soon to say. I'd like to see more of Silva. From what I have seen though, it's a possibility. It may give us options that we haven't previously had. We've often seemed to miss that link when Shinji isn't selected and resorted to long balls (hoofs) 'down the channel' for Vardy to chase down.

That said, Puel has started to address that with this new 'keep ball and build' tactic we've been using of late.

Or instead of using 'wingbacks' to get the ball down the sides you use Silva and Okazaki to deliver the ball through the middle with the option then to release it to Gray/Albrighton or Mahrez.

Possibly. He does seem to be more “box to box” than Ndidi and Iborra.

Prediction: Match never happens.

Well in that case if it is never going to happen we will win 4-1 and Puel will be sacked 4 days later!
