The last of the heroes finally leaves

We went and did the most extraordinary thing the football world has ever seen, and then we signed:

Hernandez - dreadful, and went after a few months to Malaga (?)
Mendy - hopeless, now farting about in France
Zieler - godawful, and now back in Stuttgart
Musa - comedy gold, and now back where he came from in Moscow
Kaputska - never looked good enough, now at Freiberg
Slimani - complete wank, and forced to go to Newcastle as punishment

What a shower - no wonder last season was a complete feckin' nightmare

Far from our only dodgy summer though. There are loads of candidates . . .

Interesting aside from today's Guardian:

According to a source, (West Ham's) attempts to sign Slimani were hindered because Brady, the club’s vice-chairman, offended Leicester’s owners with comments about the club’s chairman, Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha, in her weekly column for the Sun last year.

“A fellow Premier League director reports that last night he bumped into the Leicester chairman at London’s most-expensive wine shop,” Brady wrote. “The Leicester owner told him they’d sacked Claudio Ranieri.

“He then casually settled his bill for wine and champagne. Since the sum was close to £500,000 I guess the compensation to his old manager is pocket change. At least the owner can drown his sorrows in style!”

The source suggested Brady’s comments ended up becoming a PR own goal when Leicester refused to consider West Ham’s interest in Slimani, paving the way for Newcastle United to sign the Algerian forward on loan. It is claimed that despite repeated apologies from West Ham, attempts to make peace with Leicester fell on deaf ears.

It is understood that Brady apologised to Leicester some time ago and thought the matter was considered by both parties to be closed.
Vichai, Rudkin et al sat with the fans away at West Ham. Take with whatever pinch of salt but I heard from someone at the club that they were refused a box.

I would have snubbed her for the simple fact she writes for that rag of a paper & hangs around with a media tart who does all in his power to get in front of a Camera!

Nicky Platnauer, yes, I'd say he's one of them. I mistook Colin Gordon (not that I remember him!) for Morgan.

Ashley ****ing Ward. Forgot he ever signed for us.

Was a tidy player for a couple of years. Not at City though.

Rowett, Creswell, Benjamin, Akinbiyi, Royce, Davidson.

Before anyone even says it Davidson was crap.

Rowett was ok I suppose.

Yeah they were all shit. Davidson was a good pro but below the standard of player we should have been signing.

Platnaeur was a legend for his chant. OO-AH Platenah. Kevin Poole player loads of games for us under Little and beyond. I remember Fitzpatrick effecting the first proper bicycle kick clearance is ever seen. Ashley ward and Gordon were less good
But ward went on to be great at Barnsley

The Home Club is required by FA and Premier League regulations to provide an area of seating for officials of the Away Club in the proximity of such seats for its own officials. It would be ridiculous to think that Vichai and others sat with the fans other than by their own choosing.

"The big difference between Newcastle and Leicester is that Rafa Benítez trusts me and having the trust of your coach is very important."

The biggest difference being you've got Joselu as competition for a starting place.
