The Mahrez Saga

That would be a credible point of view if you didn't have a history of slagging off King at any possible opportunity.

It just looks like you believe fans can be venal bastards who want success but players can't be?

Erm, this has me slightly confused.

You may be thinking of someone else.

He's not good enough to play premier league football, this is an obvious fact, but I don't slag him off at any given opportunity.

So let me get this right.

Are people seriously believing sky sports sources over an actual statement from the player?

He clearly missed the Everton game through his own doing but why he has been absent since has been pure speculation.

Given the pictures from training, it hardly looks like he his near suicidal and his team mates look happy to have him back too.

I'd still not have him in the squad for today but the majority of the people that are getting ridiculously angry about this are exactly the same posters that post over the top reactions when we don't win every game!

Seems like some people just have to be angry about something all the time and its times like this that make me question football as yes, the majority of players are ****s, but so are the majority of fans too!

So the situation was simply that Mahrez asked for time off and the club said yes.

Nice of the PFA to offer to help with that!

Each have their own context and perspective. It's perhaps important to realise that and take it into account. Make up your own mind, or not. Take them at face value if you want.

What can be interesting is what is not said. For example, in Mahrez's statement he said the club knew where he was and knew his mind, and I believe that entirely. What he didn't say was that the club approved of his actions, or had sanctioned his time off. That confirms, for me anyway, that he was AWOL. You then decide how you feel about that, if anything, and go from there. Again, you could just take it at face value.

I can't see anyone getting angry?

I see people lapping up a seriously lacking PR statement's but that's up to them.

Surely it's about opinions? Or should we all just take everything players do and say like good little boys and girls and carry on?

As for the photos, I believe they are old and from last year.

I support no individual over the team, and this individual has negatively impacted the team because he didn't get what he wanted as an individual.

Where in the statement did it say he was allowed the time off?

There are several respected journalists such as John Percy in the Telegraph that have said we are fining him £240k. Hardly the actions of a club who allowed him time off.

The PFA have offered assistance in resolving the matter. Why would they have done that if it was a simple case of a club allowing their star player two weeks holiday during important games?

All the evidence points towards an ungranted period of absence. It’s not about “believing sky sports sources over a statement from the player”. If Mahrez had included in his statement that the time off was allowed, then yes it would be.

Wake up and smell the coffee.

Let's just accept that:
a) he's been a bit of a baby
b) we are a better team with him
c) the club nor Mahrez give a shit what we think
d) doritos are the new monster munch

Really? Have you not read your own posts at least?

No one is 'lapping up a PR statement' direct from the source but many are lapping up whatever the gutter press spout from their so called sources.

It's all about perspective and you don't have to completely believe one or the other, not everything is binary!

The only facts remain are that he missed the Everton game through his own doing but everything else after is pure speculation.

It's in everyone's interest to have him back playing and playing well for the rest of the season which should happen after today's game.

And of course he should be sold in the summer, but only when the club thinks the timing is right and we get what we feel is the right value for him.

No point being angry about him all year or booing him if he does play as it will benefit no one from it.

First 3 I agree with. Doritos? **** off.
Also agree all round.

IMO Space Raiders are the only thing that comes close to Monster Munch but they are not Monster Munch.

If Monster Munch were withdrawn I would be really miffed for a bit but if they were then reintroduced I would happily buy a bag again.

The only acceptable snack alternative to monster munch are Aldi's monster claws. Space raiders does come close though.

I think we can all agree we’d much rather have Dany N’Guessan back at the club. Never had all this bollocks with him.

What a player. I can only guess we'd left the Josh Low attributes filter on the football manager database. We're after a winger who can't cross the ball, pass the ball or run with the ball. A good solid 15 for heading ability is essential given his position.

Can just imagine training. Pearson gannin radge at Gradel for trying tricks and shit then screaming "Gwan Dany, head the ****ing thing"

Yeah, Gradel was shit an’ all though.

I'm sure Mr la-di-da 'Wotsits not cheesy enough' Jeff will have found an alternative in Fortnum and Mason or something

I buy all my snacks from a shop in Corbridge that sells artisan organic wholegrain quinoa and spelt crisps in the shape of unicorns and peasants. They're available in quince and elderberry flavours.
