Since Puel was appointed we are 8th in the League for both Expected Goals and Expected Goals Conceded (based on the chances created and the quality of those chances).
We're currently 8th in the table, the same position Puel finished last year with the Saints.
The big question is whether the owners expect us to be finishing higher than this, which I expect that they do, and how quickly they expect us to get there.

Well at least I was one of the few engaging a brain cell. You just don't sack a manager when you're comfortably top half. How many instances do you need where clubs have gotten too greedy and it has backfired. Southampton, Birmingham and West Brom are three in just the last season or so...
Puel wasn't given time at Southampton but he was in France and achieved impressive feats in all his jobs there. We are in a position where we can afford to give him time to get us to improve.

A third win in thirteen games doesn't make me suddenly change my opinion that he doesn't know what he's doing and he isn't the right man to take the club forward.
Shakespeare had the same number of matches that Puel has now had before being sacked. He's collected two points more than Shakespeare did in that time. That's hardly impressive for an experienced manager with the tools at his disposal.
We have forty points now so there is no sense in making a change before the summer. However, he has a lot to do to prove himself worthy of a summer transfer window.
The thought of going into next season with him in charge and no Mahrez is not appealing to me one bit.

I think you really need to see a manager start a season before making that judgement. Shakey’ record included the honeymoon period he got after Ranieri, but his record from the start of this season was poor. I’ll reserve judgement on Puel until 10 or so games into next season. Sacking a manager who inherited 90% of the the team is silly, especially when you’re 8th in the league and still in the cup.
Speaking of the cup, if he wins it, sacking him is out of the question.

Finishing 8th this season and a decent run in the F.A cup will do for me. Puel has a history of bringing youngsters through but that takes time. I'd like to see Puel lead the club next season, allowing him to get rid of some inherited players, bring in others and a full pre season under his belt. Finishing top 10 for the next few years while developing a new playing style can only be good for the club.

Puel and youngsters is fine, like Nacho, but not if it means Chilwell is number 1 choice for starting at left back. The lad may be great at tearing down the wing, but if you need serious defending, then Fuchs is still my starting choice, plus he has that amazing long throw which is a bonus if we had players who were any good at receiving corners and free kicks.

Youngsters need time and a chance to improve. Chilwell isn't the number 1 left back at the club at the moment but he is more likely to improve than Fuchs is. Chilwell won't improve sat on the bench each week. City are safe from relegation and can afford to play chilwell,grey and done of the other youngsters in the first team squad.
