Puel out

Has he gone yet?

It would be an absolute travesty to see Mahrez’s last 6 games be played in our current style of football.

I wonder how quickly people’s minds will change if we win at Burnley?

I don’t think we have played well for a while. I am concerned where we are heading. Another change (While losing some of our best players in summer) has potential to be a disaster. Who will we bring in?

Rafa
Silva
Fckn Pardew
Big Sam

Puel has brought in all of one player so far. He cost peanuts, was bought for development, and looks very good value. Why wouldn't people trust him to invest further in the playing squad?

And for a better idea of what Puel actually wants us to play like our U23 side is pretty close

I've not watched the side, so don't know what they look like. But I think I'd take top of the league and a cup semi final

Fast passing, possession based attacking football where almost everyone is comfortable on the ball lots on interchanging of the 3 behind the striker too

We should give the job to Beaglehole, then, rather than persist with someone who, after six months, has managed to get us up to play the exact opposite of that

I don't think it's fair to suggest that Puel has made things worse. For the vast majority of last season and the beginning of this, we were dreadful.

We have been complaining about a lack of effort and desire long before Puel came.

Comparing performances under Puel to our title winning season isn't fair. Comparing them to performances since then it certainly isn't worse.

Yes something broke after our title win, and it is immensely frustrating, but unlike Ranieri and Shakespeare before him I do feel that Puel has tried to fix it.

Personally I am keen to see the team he builds for next season.

or let Puel get players in that can do it and drop those that can'#t without fans having a hissy fit because someone from the team of 2 years ago is dropped as happens every time now

The problem is that decent players having had a glimpse of how Puel is setting up his teams won't want to sign for Leicester. Those that do will be over priced and the stickers amongst us will want to give them months to conclusively prove that the team is still crap. The season will almost certainly be a write off and we will more than likely be facing relegation.

Safer bet which gives us a chance of getting out of the rut is to part with Puel at the start of close season and give someone else a decent opportunity.

As things stand I fear that Puel will be allowed to stumble on - tho' a few more performances like last Saturday could cause a reaction that the owners feel they have to act.

So you would call relegation zone to 8th in the premier league a rut? he is trying to move the team forward with a fast possession based game the issue is the players are not doing it. He needs to bring in better players we definitely need a replacement for Simpson and Morgan and if Chillwell does not pick up he will need replacing to. Diabate looks a decent acquisition Puel needs to buy in a box to box midfielder of real quality, whether or not as you correctly state we can do that I do not know. That is why 7th is so important.

get another holding midfielder, or promote Hamza full time and NDidi could be the box to box man

I've said previously that Puel seems to know how to avoid relegation and in that regard he's done his job.

Unfortunately his playing style is as boring as is possible to imagine and this talk of finishing 7th is more or less dead and buried. The players weren't interested - and I suspect neither was Puel.

It’s no longer about this season. We won’t go down so it doesn’t really matter where we finish. But looking to the long term; does anybody really think he is the manager to move us forward and push for the European place the owners so obviously want? I certainly don’t. And therefore I see no point in persisting with him. Sack him now or sack him after the last game of the season, but we need to move forward with someone else in charge.

who? Who should get the job then?

I said in a thread I started weeks ago I wanted to see him drop anyone that cannot play his style of football, there is now even more reason to do so.

To be clear I don't really care whether Puel stays or not, until the old guard, with the exception of Vardy are gone no manager can really change anything here as they start playing like they are now when they do

With all due respect, I'd like to bet that you are not old enough to remember the collapses of our club in preceding eras.

Seriously, you are asking us to chuck away the thing that guarantees us being competitive in the top league for a manager that has proved nothing in the Premier League except the ability to make teams worse in every possible way.

If the manager was an inspiring leader asking us to back him towards greater success and demonstrating a method then you may have a point.

But he's a clown.
